Alright, well I'm a guy who loves cats so that alone makes me odd, but a couple days ago I watched a movie called Adventureland (Starring Kristen Stewart (Twilight lead actress)) and I was really impressed with how good and professional she was, considering how young she is. So I decided that I would rent Twilight and see if her acting lived up to the hype. I hadn't really wanted to see it because I had heard that it was mainly a chick flick, but I decided to watch it this afternoon.

I LOVED IT!!!! I think I'm the only guy I know who liked it. I'm planning on seeing the second one tomorrow. I've heard it wasn't as good as the first, but I still want to see it. What did you all think of Twilight and New Moon?

You are not too odd. My hubby loves cats. He had a colorpoint shorthair named Princess for about 15 years.
Twilight? Yuk. I am a female and that makes me shudder.

I have no knowledge of these films but I do know that seeing your posts over the years that there is absolutely nothing odd about you. Here is the deal: Most men will just not admit to the things that we do. That is why we comprise only 7% of this site. Congratulations for admitting your feelings. I try and do the same all the time.

That makes me an odd woman, I hate Twilight, tried to watch it the other night on the movie channel, and it was the most inane bit of drivel I have seen since I tried watching the acclaimed Bridget Jones Diaries. I like movies like Lethal Weapon (all 4) and other shoot'em up style movies, almost any adventure movie, odd ball stuff like the Naked Gun series, Men With Brooms, et al. The only hot movies I have decided I must watch are every single HP movie and every single Pirates movie and there is a new one coming

Lots of men I know like cats. BTW. Part time neighbour loves his cats and hires somone to look after them when he is gone. Seen one old tough guy at the race track that dragged his cat around with him all over the place, - he found this cat as a starving stray at the barns, nursed him back to health and took him home when they closed the Ex on us. Surprising number of race track people have cats that ride in a vehicle as willingly as a dog, and their people take them along to small fair meets. Lots of farmers 'hate' cats, but if something happens to one, they are apt to take the cat to the vet sooner than the wife and they talk happily about their working cats; you can see they dont really hate them. Some men feel they should like dogs better and protest that the cats belong to the wife or kids and there isnt a dog in sight.

I didn't like Twilight either... But you are not odd for loving cats. My DH adores our 2 girls, especially Rusty. Dusty is my girl.

Wow. I'm quite surprised. Of all the people I've talked to around here about the Twilight movie, none of the guys liked it and all of the girls loved it.
I guess it all depends on what you like and look for in a movie.

And as to men loving cats, I know a lot of guys that are cat people, but they just don't love cats like we do on this site. They don't have the same passion.

I know lots of men who love cats. So....you may be odd, but it's not because you are a guy who loves cats!

Probably just age group. I don't even like drama or romantic type movies so I'm not going anywhere near a movie that has teen romance and sparkly vampires.

Maybe they don't have the same passion because their kitties just aren't as cute as yours are.

I think people who give into stereotypes of what is male/female are the odd ones! Seriously. In the day and age we live in its just odd. People before us fought to live authentic lives regardless of the social constraints that were put upon their sex. We don't have to FIGHT anymore. We can just be. Its a wonderful thing!

BTW: I never knew you were a guy. Talk about stereotyping, with a cat named Marie I assumed you were a woman.

I named Eric and Marie after my grandpa's 2 cats. They looked almost identical to mine.

I hope you didn't take offence.
I have always loved your cats names.... Meezer included. I also think (biasly because I love tuxedos
) that your kitties are super cute. I am always attracted to your siggy when I see it.

Why did your grandpa name them Eric and Marie? I am sure its an interesting story.

No worries
I get that a lot.

Eric was his best friend. They grew up 4 houses away from each other and did almost everything together. Unfortunately Eric died in WWII.

I don't know about Marie. I'll have to ask my Mom about that.

My DH absolutely adores our furkids. He loves them every bit as much as I do and I will often find him cooing to one of them while they're flopped down on his lap. Whisper sleeps on his side every night.

One of my male co-workers loves his Charlie. When his ex-wife called to tell him that she didn't want the kitty anymore (long story and I won't go into all the sordid details), he went right over and brought the boy home with him. He has pictures of Charlie in his wallet and on his cell phone and is always showing the cat to friends. Another co-workers likes cats, but is very much allergic to them, so they don't have any.

But, no way are you alone.

Now, Twlight? Uh, no, can't go there. I'm sorry.

I haven't seen the movies you mentioned, but I'm an odd guy too so no worries. You're in good company.

Lee hit it right on! And that's why we appreciate the men on this site so much.

As for "Twilight"... I may be a chick, but I'm not the least bit interested. There are more than enough bloodsuckers and soulstealers in this world -- who needs teenage vampires? (Regular teenagers are scary enough!
)
