I was wondering who else here believes in angels and if anybody has stories about experiences with them. I never had any experiences until a few months ago, although I have always felt I have a guardian angel. Here are my stories; I hope you will also share your thoughts on or stories about angels!

___
My father was in hospice care and one of his caregivers told a story about something that had recently happened. She said when people die, they always look to the left (if they can), so she always sits on the person's right side. She had just experienced an amazing thing: she was with an elderly man who was dying. She was surprised when he turned to his left and said to the air:

"NO! I'm NOT going with you!"

The man turned to the caregiver and told her, "There are 3 angels there and they want me to go with them, but I'm not going with them!"

He went back and forth a few times, saying "NO!" and "I'm not going with you" to the left and then turning to her saying stubbornly that he refuses to die.

Finally, he looked to his left again and listened for a moment then said, "I don't care WHO you go get, I'm not going with you!"

A second later, he died, and she said it was like a gust of wind came and swept him away. She said she always wondered why the dying look to the left and now she knew - that's where the angels appear.

___
When my sister Linda woke up from her first cancer surgery, she saw two bright lights on her left. She was very groggy and it took a while to figure out what she was seeing but it was a man and a woman who looked like they were floating in clouds. She saw the male and wondered what the lumps behind him were, then realized they were wings. The other being was a female (with large breasts, lol!), and they were both made of a light that was a color Linda had never seen before, and she said the light didn't glow around them, it was in them. She said she's used to light spreading out from glowing objects, but their light didn't do that. It was unlike any light she had ever seen before, and also was not like she pictured angels to be!

Both angels smiled big smiles at her and waved good-bye and were gone. We all took this as a sign that Linda is going to be okay. We are tightly holding on to this hope right now.

If anyone is interested, here is Linda's story (most recent first):

Wow that's kinda mind boggling...
I don't believe in angels, well from my experience what I believe in is that after you die it's just like before you were born, you're just gone. I don't believe in god or heaven or hell or have any religious beliefs.
But I do keep my mind open....those things that happened with the old man and your sister make me really question whether there really are angels! Well of course it could be that when people are that sick and close to death, their own imagination or fears of death begin to give them hallucinations...but then if that was the case, it wouldn't be always to the left!!

I do believe in angels, among other spiritual beings. I believe also that spirits appear to a person in a way that they would most notice. So my vision of an angel might be dramtically different than some one elses.

Though i have seen my share of spirits i have never had an experiance with an angel myself though i have witnessed miraculous events. But just the fact that i have seen so many different unearthly beings makes it seem impossible to me that there NOT be angels among them.

The human brain is very complex - some really crazy things happen in response to certain chemicals and things happening in the body. Simply depriving one of sleep (or doing certain drugs) can prove that. After not sleeping for nearly 6 days I was seeing some pretty crazy things - either I really did see a three foot long mouse following me around at one point, or my brain was playing tricks on me.
Who believes in giant mice?

Well yea but if many people go on with no sleep for 6 days and all of them react the same way I'd think it's weird..which is why I find it weird that they ALL look to the left

oodlesofpoodles- I have never experienced anything miraculous or supernatural. Sometimes I wonder if it's just how I see things, when something happens to me I see it as reality but someone else might see the same thing as a miracle or something supernatural

Maybe it correlates to something in the brain?

It could be, I think it's something really worth researching though!! I'm surprised no one has looked into it before..

That could very well be true. Now i have been called crazy, or had it implied, but i am not, nor have i ever had such an event while deprived of sleep or impaired by any kind of chemical. Everyone views the world around them differently than the person beside them and that is what makes life interesting. Many things can be explained by science, but even science is not yet arrogent enough to claim to have disproven the supernatural once and for all. So what is left is individual interpreation of events.

The world is full of small miracles but what might seem miraculous to me, might not to you.

I just think life would be pretty dull with out the possibility of things beyond the human realm of understanding.

That is SO true!! I always look for stuff like that, just never find anything..I guess anything that may be out there doesn't think I'm a worthy human to communicate with

I don't think so!

I've been doing some reading on angels and they are described as "messengers." Maybe you haven't needed a message yet?

I've always been really skeptical about this kind of stuff, too, I was raised with no religion in an abusive household, but I used to pray anyway (I didn't call it prayer then) to my grandmother who died before I was born. I guess I didn't know where to direct my prayers!

But always through my life when I've been feeling hopeless I've heard (maybe felt is a better word) comforting thoughts coming from somewhere in my head. Sometimes I ask questions and wait and I get an answer. I never told anybody when I was young because I thought you aren't supposed to hear voices in your head, lol!

From my readings, though, it sounds like this was my guardian angel communicating with me, guiding and comforting me. I've also been in some dangerous situations and this same "voice" has alerted me to get to safety.

I've read that you can call your guardian angel, all you have to do is ask. Is it that simple? I don't know... If you do it let me know if it works!

Oh i doubt it is that at all. Lol. What i believe is there are elements about the world that are there whether we can see them or not. Some people just happen to be more open to seeing those elements than others for what ever reason.

Maybe you simply percieve things differently than others. Or maybe your angels have a physical form so you have no need to see things that most can not.
Many animals are considered sacred in certain cultures after all.

That's the very reason I don't believe in any miracles or any supernatural beings out to protect/comfort anyone. Where are they when babies are abused? Raped? Killed? What about the thousands of children dying from disease and starvation? Who's there to comfort and protect them?.. Why should a person who's had a full and halfway decent life be the one to get saved/comforted/protected?

Have you heard about the third man factor? It's debated whether it's external or internal. Many believe it's just your inner voice.

Swampwitch i have had the same "voice" experiance from the time i was a child. I got the nickname Cyble (like the famous skitzophranic) when i was really young because of this little fact.

This actually reminds me of a little thing that happened months ago. My nephew (who just turned 3) was sitting in the livingroom by himself just talking away. I asked him what he was talking to. He pointed to something i couldnt see and said "The light" I said "what is the lights name?" he looked toward where he had been pointing for about 20 seconds in silence...then looked at me and said "God"

Now i have no explination of this. And though i am not christian and do not believe in only one god, this gave me chills.

I never knew that about looking to the left, but I do know when my husand passed away he was looking to the left.

My Grandma passed away in March of '07, sometimes I can smell her strong perfume around me.

Yeah... I have the same questions. I don't know the answers, either.

The only theory that strikes me as truthful is that we pick our lives here on earth to advance our souls. It's not supposed to be easy and we're not supposed to know the before or after of our lives while we are here.

I can't imagine that I would have picked my mother to live with! But my sister Linda believes that I am here for her, and she for me and maybe the only way we could be together in this life is under our mother - that also rings true to me.

Linda was filled with a peaceful feeling when/after seeing the angels. I thought she would have been scared after hearing the story from our father's caregiver!

But... I don't know. These angel experiences have been making think, though. Checking out third man factor now...

I have never heard of that, but I've felt like there HAS always been a voice there, but I always felt like it's internal it never even crossed my mind that some other entity might be talking to me..
I have only been really drunk 2 or 3 times in my life but I always hear that voice when I'm drunk, it is telling me: "get a cab and go home now and sleep" lol it also encourages me like "take baby steps, one thing at a time first walk up to the street then get into the car, slowly and carefully"

I can look at all of the bad in the world and feel sadness, but i can not look at it and see an absence of something bigger.
If there is a supernatural world around us it does not exist to keep us from harm but perhaps to bring us comfort in times of distress. Maybe something supernatural can influence our world, but it can not control it. Therefore there is nothing that can stop those who choose to do evil, or the terrible diseases that so many experiance.

Here is my story..

Back in the early 80's, DH and I were traveling very early in the morning to Pismo Beach. We were going to spend the weekend camping on the beach with another couple, who were in the car with us. We were traveling west on State Rt 46 (often referred to as "Blood Alley" for all the accidents and deaths on that particular stretch of freeway). No other traffic was in sight except for us and a diesel truck DH wanted to pass. After he had passed the truck, he got too far to the left, and hit a patch of gravel. He lost control of the car as we started to spin. All he saw was the chain link fence we were heading for and all I saw was the diesel's headlights baring down on us. Suddenly we were facing the right way down the freeway as if nothing had happened!! I firmly believe that an angel reached down and turned the car forward. If the diesel had hit us, all of us would have been killed instantly. My friend didn't know at the time, but she was pregnant with her first son.

I often wonder what diesel driver saw that day.

I do believe in angels. When I was a little girl. My Grandfather always rubbed my back and told me a I was a good girl. He died when I was 10 of a massive heart attack. I woke up in the middle of the night , I could feeling him rubbing my back, I could see him sitting there, and I could hear him tell me I was a good girl, I needed to listen to my Mom and take good care of her. I was told in the morning he was dead. I had a similar experience when my father died and when my other grandfather died.

On the west side of... of... somewhere.
I believe in Angels, Guardian Angels and the like. I have two. I know it sounds odd, but I even know their names: Rebekah and Cassandra. They've been with me most, if not all, my life. When I was a teenager, I hated life, the world, etc... wanted to die. Every time I really started to think about it, something happened. A song popped into my head, on the radio, someone would call, you name it. A Bible verse pop into my head. (I became a Christian at 15, from an agnostic household.) Every time I was pulled back from that edge. Even later, when I got away from those thoughts, if I was in a potentially bad situation, I felt protected.

I believe in them, yes. I wouldn't be alive today without them and their intervention. They knew I had bigger things to accomplish and it wasn't my time yet.
