Hi y'all,
Guess I'll take a moment to introduce myself--my name is Lauren and I'm from Dallas. When I was 6 years old I begged my parents for a cat but was told "absolutely not" until my mom found a stray kitten while jogging one day. I've had cats ever since lol.
I am the community services coordinator for a local cat/kitten rescue group and also do quite a bit of fostering. I help out at our weekend adopt-a-pets, assist with our TNR program, and have discovered that I have a talent for "taming" wild/feral/unsocialized kittens lol and medicating uncooperative cats.
I have several cats of my "own"--Ian (DSH gray tabby), Fiona (DSH buff tabby), Bianca (DSH white w/blue eyes), Mischa (DLH gray and white), and Sienna (calico van w/GORGEOUS blue eyes).
Some of my fosters include a gray Maine Coon kitten, a 3 month old orange tabby boy, a litter of 3 black DLH babies about 8 weeks old who were going to be euthanized at the shelter because they were so "mean" (they're complete sweethearts now), and a mama cat with 4 kittens close to 3 weeks old that was found at my apartment complex out in the freezing cold. Who said kitten season was only spring and summer lol?
I can't wait to get to know some of y'all and explore the forums! I will try to post some pics as soon as possible.
