I've been to Mexico a number of times. Never to Mexico City, but other towns and cities.

2.- ¿Wich part exactly? are you came by business or by vacations?
I've always visited while on vacation. With family in Tucson, I've had many a trip to Nogales. I've also visited Tijuana while in California, and Cancun for a quick vacation. But my favorite is Puerto Vallarta. I stay in an apartment in the romantic zone where few people speak English.

Would you believe me if I told you that I turned 40 years old while on the top of the large pyramid at Chichen Itza? I did!! So yes, I've been close to your part of the world!!

4.- Can you speak spanish?
Barely enough to get buy during my visits. DH is more fluent. You would have had a good laughing listening to me while I tried to buy dish soap while in a Pharmacia in Puerto Vallarta. I realized later that I was asking for soup plates.

5.- Do you have some CD of Spanish music? do you like it?
If you count Los Lobos as Spanish music. But there is Spanish hour on our local public radio station that I listen to. The accordian music is very similar to German/Polish music, which I was raised with. I like the lively music that makes you want to get up and dance.

6.- Have you ever to watched a Mexican Movie? ( I mean with Spanish Dialogs?)
No, but I did see Get Shorty at a theater on an island off the coast of Panama. It was spoken in English with Spanish subtitles and I actually learned some Spanish that day!

7.-Do you like the Mexican Food?( do you have any preference for example: burritos, Tacos, rice & beans, etc?)
I'm a fan of Fajitas, quesadillas, tacos, sopapilla's, and anything that is more traditionally Mexican. In the U.S., most Mexican food is not very traditional.

8.-Do you like the Tequila?...or else Mexican Alcoholic beverage?
Do I like Tequila?

I'm a tequila snob and usually stock up while in Puerto Vallarta. Jalisco after all, is the only place in the world where real tequila is made. You can't buy the same Tequila's in the U.S. and they don't export the good stuff. My favorites are triple distilled, 3 year aged Anejos.

9.- Have you ever to sleeped in a hammock?
Yes - we bought a GREAT hammock while in your neck of the woods. I also slept in a couple of them while in Panama. The locals sleep in hammocks to stay off the ground while in the rainforest - lots of creepy poisonous critters live down there.

10.- Have you ever to saw the traditional mexican clothes?
Absolutely

11.- Do you to know Cancun Mexico? ( Is a beach)
I know it, but find it was too touristy for my tastes. I prefer the sleepy feel of Puerto Vallarta.

I love dramas, musicals and comedies. About the only type of movie that I don't care for are horror flicks.

2.- Do you collect DVD´s or VHS??,….How many do you have?
I have both DVD's and VHS format. Believe it or not, I still have a Beta machine that still sort of works. I don't watch a lot of movies over and over again, so don't own many movies, but I do have a large collection of music concerts and some comedy series (Monty Python).

3.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Male?
I really don't have one. Give me the cute beefcake of the day!

4.- Wich one is your favourite Actor Female?
I also don't have one of these.

5.- Have you ever to participated in some Special Event of your favourite artist?
Art is a very broad term for me. An artist could be someone who has perfected fine art, music, acting, a profession, authors, cooking, craft, or animal rescue folks. It's someone who has perfected what they do in life to the level that raises them above and beyond others. That being said, I consider what my friend does with cooking as art, my nephew's paintings as art, a friend's hand crafted wood furniture as art, etc. I have participated in special events for all of the above.

6.- Have you ever to saw in live to some artist? ( I mean is some restaurant, buying at mall or in some resort?)
I helped to run book signings for both Jan Fennel and Nathan Winograd. I've attended book signings for significant politicians (which in itself is an art form).

7.- Do you like to watch the Oscar Awards?
No. I don't stay up with current movies enough to have seen most of them up for award.

8.- Have you ever to participated in a role in a Theather representation? ( maybe just for fun or when you was on School?) …
I was Penelope Pitstop in an 8th grade play. I make a poor actress!

Not sure if there is anyone in particular. I would love to meet some of the artists that did the sculptures during the renaissance.

Yes. Artists by their nature are very creative and interesting people.

I can see the questions are going to be challenging!!

1. What would be your five Desert Island CDs? They don't need to come from your own collection. Why would you choose these particular ones?
1) Los Lobos - Just Another Band from East L.A.
2) Alligator Records collection
3) Stevie Ray Vaughan collection
4) Talking Heads Stop Making Sense
5) The Who Quadrophenia
Why would I choose these? I like the style of music, and they are mostly multi-volume CD's - I like to cheat the system with more than 5 actual CDs.

I actually own these collections.


2. You might also want some reading material. What would be your five Desert Island books? Why?
1) Lord of the Rings trilogy by Tolkein
2) The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 5 book trilogy by Douglas Adams
3) The Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy
4) Steve King Gunslinger series
5) I can't think of a fifth off the top of my head.
I would pick these because these are all fabulous books. The Prince of Tides was a fabulous book, far superior than the movie, which was a hit in and of itself. The fantasy ones are just that - something to escape to while passing time.

3. What else would you like to have with you to occupy your time and your mind?
Crafting tools - something that could turn the things I find on the island into houses, furniture, mats, baskets, etc. I am not one to sit idle for very long.

4. You'll also need food. If you could have only two or three foods and nothing else, what would you choose? Why?
Vegetarian stuffed pizza, Fajitas, and fruit salad. There are enough food items in these from various food groups to have at least a sensible diet, and they are fun and yummy.


5. If you could have one human companion, who would that be? Why?
My husband Steve. Not only is he a fun guy and my best friend, but he's had training in primative survival skills.

6. If you came into a large sum of money -- an unexpected inheritance, a winning, whatever, but "set-you-up-for-life" big -- what would be the first four things you would do?
- Quit my job
- Resettle to a large piece of land in the foothills of some mountain out west
- Get involved with animal rescue causes that are larger than local organizations
- Travel to places that I've always wanted to go, starting with Australia, Africa and parts of Europe

Have you ever been to Canada?
I visited Niagra Falls as a child, and as a working adult, travelled to Toronto once a week for about a year (flew out Monday, returned on Tuesday). I would love to see more of that country, particularly the far west.

What is your favorite meal?
I love to eat and have too many favorite meals. It depends on the time of year. For summer, a picnic type feast is marvelous. For winter, heavier meals with roasts (turkey, beef, etc) and all the side components are wonderful. A good Chicago style pizza is good any time of the year.

Do you have a favorite movie?
I have a few that I will watch time and time again. For classics, love The Godfather I and II and The Sound of Music. I'm a fan of musicals.

What are your hobbies?
Crafting with fabrics - pick anything out of fabric and I like to work with it. I don't necessarily like to do anything with a pattern, but prefer to come up with an idea and put it together by myself. Auntie Em Creations is a hobby turned business.

If for one day you could do exactly what you wanted what would it be?
I'm retiring from my career at the end of the year and have thought about this a lot of late. I haven't come up with the definitive answer yet, but know that as I reinvent myself, it will be to do things where I'll be doing exactly what I wanted to do. I'll let you all know when I figure it all out! This is not an easy question!!

Which is your favorite holiday?
Christmas. It's all about giving.

What is the one word that describes your personality?
Pragmatic. Yup, I know that means boring, but while I have a lot of personality traits, this is the one that most people count on me for, so it must be my strongest trait.

Not anymore, but I won't tell you how long ago I got rid of the last of those!

...and when I ask "what happened on the strangest day in your life," does any day pop to mind? What happened?
That would be any day where I try to watch my Godfather movies. For Godfather I, an ice storm hit and we lost power for a week. For Godfather II, a tornado hit our house. For Godfather III (the lamest of the series), we had massive storms with flooding. I tried to break the curse by watching all 3 back to back one time and within a few days, I got an infection in my thumb that resulted in 2 surgeries (and could have lost my thumb, hand or arm). One time while on a business trip in Boston, DH sent me a picture of canolli's with the caption "leave the gun" - a storm hit the house and we lost half of a big tree that day. The irony is that Godfather I and II are my favorite all time movies and I'm cursed everytime I try to watch them.

Best day of your life? Why?
The day I married Steve. Do I need to explain?

Worst day? (If you feel like letting us know)
All I will say is this: I lost a baby and heard of my father's terminal illness the same day. This was February 1, 1986.

Oh my, I really don't want to go there!!

1- Whos your favorite author?
I'm not sure that I have an absolute favorite, as I tend to like to read series of books, not particular authors. But I really enjoy Barbara Kingsolver books - she has a way with words that makes me feel warm and fuzzy inside.

2-Whats your favorite cartoon charactor?
This is another tough one for me, cause I'm sort of a fun loving spirit and like a lot of cartoon characters. I really like George of the Jungle.

3-If you could get any car in the world what would you get? Why?
I've owned "luxery" cars before and honestly, would love something pragmatic (see previous answer) like a Prius. My Matrix gets me around just fine right now, but would like better gas mileage.

4-Whats your favorite color?
Some days I love purple, some days green, some days brown, some days red, some days blue. The general gist is that I love deep rich colors in general. If it's not a pastel or a primary color, chances are I like it.

5-If you could live anywhere in the world where? Why?
In the foothills of a mountain range close to a desert. Tucson comes to mind.

6-Whats your favorite food?
I really could never pick one, but if you forced me into picking a final meal, it would probably be a prime rib roast with mashed potatoes, mushroom gravy, and fresh green beans. If you asked me this question in the summer, I would probably give a different answer.

Food - one of my favorite topics!

1. Do you cook? Do you like to, or is it a chore?
I love to cook, hate to bake. When I work long hours, it becomes a chore, so I'm really looking forward to "retiring" at the end of the year so I can start cooking again.

2. Do you like to cook with someone else? How well do you share your kitchen?
DH and I used to have the perfect tag team in the kitchen. Since we remodeled the kitchen, we've been so busy that we haven't really tested it out together. We will do that and we can share it very nicely.

3. What is your favourite thing to prepare?
Depends on my mood. Yesterday I had a major urge to make a pumpkin pie from scratch - and I mean start with a real pumpkin. Although I hate to bake, it was fun to do cause I started with completely raw ingredients.

I'm not sure that it is the preparation that I like as much as the eating it when I'm done. So the things that I like to prepare are things I love to eat (pizza, lasagna, roasts, thanksgiving meals, etc)

4. What is your favourite dish that someone else prepares for you? Who?
My husband's pizza, although have to admit that I always have to make the sauce.

5. Either of those favourites might be a comfort food, or not. What is your favourite comfort food?
Fried chicken and dumplings. DH always knows I'm in a down mood when I feel the urge to make this. The fried chicken is my mom's recipe and the dumplings are my grandmothers recipe. I'm the only one in the family that has mastered her dumplings.

6. What is your favourite celebration food?
Thanksgiving dinner - the entire day is a celebration to me

7. When people come to my table, I always ask first whether there are any allergies/sensitivities/likes/dislikes I should keep in mind. If you came to my home, what would your answer be?
Hold the mustard, and limit the use of eggs. Not terribly fond of fish either. Mustard ruins the taste of just about everything (IMO) and I have an intolerance to eggs.

8. Do you consider yourself adventurous where unfamiliar food is concerned?
Like the time I had lunch with an indigenous tribe in Panama and asked them if what they served was chicken or something that tasted like chicken?

I'll try anything at least once.

9. What is your favourite meal of the day?
Dinner hands down.
