I think my SS is trying to be extra sneaky this year. There's a label on the box which has the mailing address of Aunty Em's creations, but is that really who my SS is??
I think she/he is trying to throw me off track!

I think I need to point out an FYI for my SS: The package is pretty banged up, and looks as if it's been re-tapped.
I sure hope that everything my SS sent is indeed in the box. I will be sure to take an exact inventory of what's in the package so I can let my SS know if whether or not everything arrived safely.
Hmmmm......a return address from me? I will admit to having packed that box but am not telling if it's from me or someone else!

I do know that most of the pressies in that box are wrapped, so it it probably safe to open it and count the gifts at least to see if something is missing. If there is something missing or broken, I'm going to beat up the post office.

OPEN IT !!!!!

What is wrong if some people do spend more? If it makes someone's christmas better, isn't that what really matters?

I think if someone wants to spend more then that is their choice.

Seriously, it is the thought that counts.... especially in this day and age... with the way the economy is, it is hard.... but the fact that people are still willing to share the xmas spirit no matter how big or small it is, is the TRUE meaning of it for me.

Some people do go overboard, but that is their choice if they are able to do so.... other people can only spend the limit, and if you're a good shopper, it can go far.

Remember, for some folk, just getting a pkg in the mail can make their day.

My gift is here and opened--DH had no patience. I sent a message to whom I believe is my SS. I loved everything and so did the kitties!!

I'll post pictures in the next few days. Bear with me I'm still struggling with pneumonia and by the time I get home from work I'm ready for bed. Back to the MD tomorrow.

Exactly!
If people want to spend, I think they should. If they can't spend much it doesn't matter. The thought is what counts and the effort they make to do something nice for me!

Umm, your SS sent you 30 year old second hand cookies?
I'd stick with the sugar cookies.

Huge haul.
You and your furrykins look set for Christmas.

I'm with Amy - you really ought to open it to make sure nothing's missing. And this advice is coming from someone who usually urges people to wait! But your Santa needs to know if the post office needs to be notified of a problem!

But it got there! And because you have pneumonia I'm not going to get upset for no descriptions - let alone no pictures. GET BETTER SOON!

I decided to at least open the package to reveal its contents.
This way, my SS can take a look to verify if whether or not the contents are indeed all there, and let a snooper know via PM -- unless, of course, they want to reveal their identity now
.

When I got home with the box, I set it on the chair so I could remove my jacket and lay my purse down. It didn't take long before some of the gang came to inspect:

The goodies under the tree:

I'll betcha I know what's in that plastic bag!

I decided to let the "kids" have some of their goodies. They don't seem to have the patience that their Meowmy does.

I noticed that their feather wands are in green & gold. Way to go, SS!!

Now I have to decide if whether or not I want to proceed with opening everything else.
I know the dark side is beckoning, but all the goodies look real nice under the tree, and if I open them all now, there won't be much to open on Christmas!
I know it's just killing my s/o that I'm not opening them -- so I think I'll wait -- just to be mean!
(he's worse than a kid!
).

Shame on you - torturing an innocent soul that way!
God is watching, you know.

Everything appears to be in good shape, Amy.
Everything was wrapped well, so I don't think anything was damaged.
(I won't even get started on what I think of the post office.
). I just posted some pix of the goodies under the tree so you (or whoever my SS is) can take a peek.

I just took a count: there are 13 wrapped packages in all -- plus the 3 kitty toys I already let the kids have.

This is the second time in this thread you've made this statement. While I agree that well thought out gifts are the wonderful, I don't know why you think that someone who sends many gifts has not thought it through, or put care into their presents. I think that's a bit unfair. For instance, in the pictures posted, I see many gifts that I believe are tailored to that person's likes...I get the impression that the giver did indeed put much thought and care into the gifts.

That being said, of course someone should never feel bad if they can't send as much as someone else. It is the thought and care that count, regardless of the number of presents be they few or many.
