I cant sign up! I go through a long deal of info and then asks me for my POP server. Uhh, huh now? What? I know what that is, but, eh?
I have to go delve into settings to get this? I dont know what my POP is on a server that is what I normally use! Sigh.
Help?

Do you have another email account you can use to register with instead? (I used google)

You didn't have to create a gmail account...any email will do. If you're getting the POP error message, that's with your provider. Give it a day and try again. If you're still having problems, then you should contact your internet service provider. There's nothing technically special you have to do to sign up, it's just a regular email account.

Y'know, I was thinking earlier looking through this thread.....I'm excited to see it, and happy for it to be here, but sort of sad too.....for those of us who have been here several years, we all know that Hope was not in any financial position to do this, although she wanted to, and was hoping that this year might be the year she was able to participate.....and she's not here to enjoy it with us.....sigh.
Will the hints thread start after signups are done? I'm so excited! I almost bought a coffee cup for my SS person today but I thought it was kinda risky shipping it. I'm ready to start shopping though!!

We had 85 last year!
The hints thread went up the same day the sign-ups ended last year. I would imagine the same thing will happen this year.
Plus you don't know who you are buying for yet.

I finally signed up. I get wonderful ideas of what to get other people, but couldn't think of much to put in my email. I hope the hints thread will help whomever gets my name.
In a really round about way, it was because she couldn't afford SS last year that brought Sun Lee's new mom here. I heard about Hope's financial issues, so I sent her a package of Auntie Em toys (and never told her who sent them). After she died and I heard that Sun Lee was at Siamese Rescue, I contacted them to get their mailing address, then shipped a big package of toys to share with the foster parents, and some toys specific for Sun Lee. Barbara (Sun Lee's new meowmy) contacted Siamese Rescue to find out who sent the toys, who gave her my name and she e-mailed me. I then encouraged her to come here to find out more about Sun Lee's past. She posted here a few weeks ago.
Sorry for the tangent, but my mind was on Hope also.
