Another great show - competition (numbers) between the lower Fargo show and the higher Minneapolis show.

8 out of 8 rings for finals again. So he was 22 out of 24 rings with finals for his 3 kittens shows. Average (for kitten score) - 34.6 - puts him about 10th/11th for the region (based on last year's scores) and not sure what nationally. It would probably be 21-30th nationally. He SHOULD take Best Ocicat Kitten Region and Nationally.

Of course we have no idea for the rest of the season in the kitten class, so we will see.

Here's the breakdown:

Saturday: 6th Best AB kitten (Julie Nicholls, Australian judge)
10th Best AB Kitten
3rd Best AB Kitten
3rd Best Specialty Kitten

Sunday: two 6th Best AB Kitten
5th Best AB Kitten
5th Best SP Kitten

While he made 8 out of 8, he was NOT in a good mood. There were a lot of females in heat (kitten and adult) and it just made him more hissy, etc. in almost every ring. We did our best to separate them as much as possible.

So he's on vacation from shows till in August now - get the chance to settle down and then hit the adult alter classes. Hopefully in a few shows he will collect the 6 finals he needs - he did very well as a kitten making top 5 AB, hope he can repeat that in the adult classes where it really counts.

Our Ocicat friend from Florida brought her 8 month old girl (championship) who was coming into heat (didn't help Jack much being right next to her). She did very well - her girl got the required 6 finals! So she will go to the next show to collect the rest of winners ribbons and be a 2 show Grand! Ann was very pleased and we finally got to meet in person.

Congratulations

Was that Dr Julia Nicholls judging?

I've found the girls much easier to show than the boys, the boys get a bit more sensitive about the surrounding cats.
I can put Ana in any show and she's fine, but choose carefully for Farley.

Congratulations!
My next show is just a small one since it's my own club's and both my Nana & I are judging. Fluffy can only go in 3 rings and Misty & Tales just in 2!

Yes it was and she told me to tell you she says "hi" - she knows you and even mentioned "did you know about her silver girl - very nice kitten".....thought you'd like that

I've never had much luck showing females (spayed or not) - the boys were easier for me. Everyone had a bad day here and there

Cleo has been ok showing except when another cat starts trouble with her.
A male Chocolate Point Siamese was screaming and hissing at her in every ring last time so she hissed when the judges took her out.
That male cat was terrible and he was fixed.

Julia is a local judge, she also breeds and shows with the same association as me so I see her often. She was my vet until retiring.
