Overdue cat?

Hi everyone, looking for some advice...

Our cat, who is two years old, is an exotic queen registered on the active. She is our one and only queen.

She has previously been mated several times with an arranged stud with no luck. Well, typically, one day in February she escaped and now I am certain she's been caught by a tom due to her huge squirming belly

Problem is, I'm worried that she's getting rather overdue and large with no sign of an impending labour. I have booked a vets appointment for today but I'm in two minds on whether to go as there are no signs she is in distress or pain and the last thing I want to do is cause her that stress.

Any advice/ words of wisdom?

Cats are pregnant from 63-68 days, sometimes they may go a few days more. So count about the time she got out. If end of February, then she would be just about ready to deliver. If earlier, then she is way overdue and there may be a problem - a kitten may be stuck inside.

Its best to get her to the vet to be x-rayed or checked so there is no problem.

If she is in the nesting box now, she probably will have them today. Just keep an eye on her and be there for any problems. Hopefully you will not need an emergency vet.

Is she acting restless? I just had a stray that I took in this week have kittens and she was definitely acting odd the day before and the day of the kitten birth. She kept getting in the bed with me, getting back in the floor, going to her nest. Neither one of us got any sleep that night. Good luck with your kittens!

....sigh...STILL no kittens :-(

Took her to the vet on saturday who looked her over, said there didn't seem to be any signs of anything 'dead' inside her, and that she seemed quite happy in herself. Temperature was taken with no sign of dipping, and here I am on Tuesday still waiting.

Kittens are moving vigorously inside her, she seems happy enough.... maybe meowing a little more than normal but she's been doing that for the last few days... still eating like there's no tomorrow

Vet has said if no kittens by thursday then he'll be cutting them out!!! So kitten vibes needed please!

You do not need a c section yet because you do not know the day she got preg.
Why dont you get a ultrasound?
My Coco had one and we were told she would have around July 25th and she had Aug 1.
I could she the kittens kicking my Coco from the other side of the room.
Do not let the vet push you into anything.
Check her temperature it will change before the kittens are born.

Mews2much this has been playing on my mind too...

Well today is Thursday and Daisy is definitely acting strange. She has been meowing all morning like she is back on heat and looking for dark places, like my wardrobe.

Have sat next to the birthing box I've made for her and she seems content with that as long as I am with her.

She is currently lying down in her box purring away, which I've read can be a sign, so I've set myself up a little camp with food and water with the laptop next to me!

I have a feeling they'll be here soon!

That is what my Meeko did and her kitten was born the next day.
I would love to see pictures when they are born.
Check and see if there is a discharge or anything.

Little Daisy did us proud!!!!!

4 beautiful tabby kittens... two are a darker tabby, almost black... is that termed simply as a dark tabby?? One of those have more white on their paws.
And two lighter, more of the mackeral tabby type, again one with white paws and the other... is either a complete tabby with no white, or a tortie-tabby like mum

Daisy is a fantastic mum, very very attentive and won't leave them for a second.... I've had to hand feed her while she's in the box!

She lets me handle the babies and is so so content
Makes my heart melt.

Now to decide which two I'll be keeping......

One will go to my mum and the other to a close friend, so we'll always be able to see how they grow up.

Will post pictures later.
Thanks to everyone

So, does this make you at all suspicious about the "arranged matings" she had earlier?
