Years ago at a job while I was in college he came to work with me and would play this area during lunchtime, worked out great

Oh my goodness! He sounds AWESOME! My fiance is scared of big dogs. We were looking at puppies once somewhere and this great dane walked in (on a leash with his owner) I look beside me, Jon is GONE, across the store in like, five seconds.

Silly question - are Dobies typically water lovers? Never met another dog that'll quite happily have a hose pointed in their face than a few Labs. My Coco adores a hosed down face - man - she's a Lab & it's water!

Thanks everyone. He is 5 years old and a really great dog.

Some Dobers like water, others don't. This Doberman LOVES it, as you can tell. My other Doberman doesn't swim as much as him, but will and isn't a hose monster. But will willingly go into any body of water for fun and to cool down.

Thanks He is great in public. He has a solid temperament. However, he is protective when he needs to be, the great thing is he can and does discriminate REAL threats vs. the fake. The Dobermans I was raised with and the Dobermans I know now are this way.

I have two. That is a good number for the household. I think one day we will have three, but two is a good number when you are active with them, we feel like soccer mom's some days going to all of their events. But it brings everyone a lot of happiness. This working breed is VERY happy to have a "job".
