Picking my sisters kitten up at the San Jose Airport on friday - Page 2

She is home and is doing very, very well.I absolutely love her to death Galadriel went to see the vet on Saturday after I picked her up with my sister from the airport on Friday.Everything went very well they said she is extremely healthy and she is so energetic. In fact she is sitting on my lap right now purring!!! as I'm typing this.I know how some of you feel about the cat and the breeder I got her from. I am going to be sending in the form for her CFA registration and her pedigree, and will also be getting a DNA test done so that I can verify everything. Then I will takes any steps that I need to after I have all the correct info I will post a pic soon Fairy_kitten

Fairy - glad things are working out ok so far. I would get the DNA test even if you have the pedigree. I want you to understand that sometimes pedigrees are falsified and do not reflect the right parents.

That is why my sister will get the test.
My mentor told me where to have my sister get the DNA test at.
Two Rex breeders will be helping me at the cat show and one lives near my sister.

Thats why I am planning to get the DNA test ,that way I can verify what she has in the pedigree once I receive it with what she has told me,if falsified I will definately be going to the next step. That is also why I saved every email from our conversations.

What good is a DNA test without the parents to compare to?

Galadriel is cute! I love the shape of her ears, very elvish.

Wow she's longhair - I have to be honest. I think she probably is a Devon Rex/Moggy mix. I don't think you need to do a DNA test to see that.

The Dna test is so she can be reported to Cfa if it comes out with non allowable out crosses.

What a sweet baby!

I hope you get everything worked out. Its hard not to fall in love with such a cute face, but you also have a right to know exactly what it is you paid for.

Love her name

I would be careful about relying on DNA tests to report to CFA for non-allowable outcrosses. One such test reported my Minnosh as a chocolate carrier, which is not allowable for Turkish Vans in CFA. I had to go to another lab to confirm that she was NOT a carrier and the original lab had to do a re-test for me (though they were quite dismissive at first, as they said the test is 99.99% accurate!) Another test reported my Patik as not carrying dilute. . . until he produced some blues! Just be very careful, DNA testing is new technology and there are many things that can cause a false positive or negative.
