Hi

I am a new member and want to share some info on the great healing aspects I have found with Apple Cider Vinegar and Bach flower remedies. I have a 12 yr old female cat who has always been very healthy. Five weeks ago I adopted a 3 month month old female kitten who had her vacinations but from day one she had red inflamed eyes that watered alot and she sneezed ALOT. A few days later my other cat started having runny eyes, though I had done my best to keep them apart at first to socialize them gradually with one another. My older cat must have picked up the virus from the kitten and I spent alot of money of vet visits, antibiotics and eye drops that did not work. I did some research on homeopathic remedies and decided to try raw ACV vinegar (braggs) which I rubbed on the back of each cats head and massaged it..as well as putting some on my fingers and massaging it into their ears..within 2 days both cats had clear eyes and no more watering or sneezing.

I have been concerned about my older cat b/c she has been hissing at the kitten and swatting at her and she has never been an aggressive cat at all before now. She has spent the last few weeks hiding in her spot sleeping alot and just looked so depressed even though I spent alot of time trying to reassure her, cuddling etc. I read up on back flower remedies and tried some on my older cat, I would rub several drops into her ears and massage on the back of her head. One day later she actually came out of her hiding spot, was more accepting of the kitten, she was rolling around on the floor being playful just like she used to be before the new kitten was brought into our home. I am so thrilled by this and encourage anyone who is having similar problems to try the bach remedies. They are safe for cats, and other animals and sure saves alot on vet bills and antibiotics etc..(not saying antibiotics dont work but just didnt work in my case) There are several different kinds of remedies for different issues your pet may be having ie. aggression, apathy, jealousy, anxiety etc. There is info about them online and also a book (Bach Flower Remedies for Animals) Hope this helps as it has definitely helped my cats!

Welcome to TCS

1. No online advice can replace direct veterinary intervention. If you suspect that your cat may be ill, please contact your vet immediately. You are welcome to look for advice in the health forum while waiting for that appointment, but never delay proper veterinary care waiting for Internet advice. Remember that cats, and especially kittens, are very adept in keeping pain to themselves and delaying treatment may cause irreversible damage.

NOTE: Rescue remedy is GENERALLY recognized as safe ... Flower essences should be used under the guidance of a holistic minded vet ... Apple cider vinegar is another should be used under vet guidance , as some are very sensitive...
