I think Big Head is a fun name
But then, I have a cat with no tail who is named Stumpy, I like the obvious names

Waiting until April is better than doing nothing, good on you for helping him out! I agree with seeing if any local group will let you put his pic on Petfinder. I spoke to a couple of local group when I had some fosters who let me put their photos and profiles up - they were just happy for me to keep the cat, and them to advertise then, rather than dumping the cat on their doorstep.

It seems like South Carolina has a lot of homeless pets. I am constantly seeing stray dogs and cats all over the place. I honestly don't know where to begin to get someone to foster a pet, and I only trust myself to make the right choices about Big Head.

He likes to lay up against the window and the other cats (inside) like to lay next to him on the other side of the screen, they don't try and fight and I think they have become friends. To get neutuered we have to bring him go to so I plan to just keep him in. It will be akward having 5 cats but I can't let him gho to someone else, they may take care of him fine but he is already on his way to becomming part of our family.

If he is elderly I would like to make his last years very safe and loved - and I think the best place for him is in our house on a pile of sweaters or blankets where he can just relax and take it easy, maybe be a mentor to our other four boys.

Good luck with him! He sounds like a nice cat. Male cats develop "jowls" when they are not neutered, which makes their heads look bigger. I'm glad you were able to find a spay/neuter clinic. Most places have some type of low cost clinic for rescues or feral cats. I am taking one of my feral-rescue kittens in at the end of the month to a shelter clinic get spayed and they have a special price for what they called trap-neuter-adopt, the total is going to be $26 for spay AND microchip. There are some places in my area that will spay/neuter/vaccinate ferals for free if you are planning to re-release them (TNR.)

this is a wonderful story!

I'm so happy that you're helping Big Head, the world needs more people like you!!!

Even though you can't do anything until April, it's understandable. Money is always an issue, and at least you providing him with the love, food and warm bed he deserves =)

PS. The wedding photo's can wait! We want to see this big, brave boy!

ok I joined photobucket and I uploaded some pictures, but I can't figure out the next step, when I try to clink on the icon to upload a link or upload a picture on this site a little box comes up. Do I just post the text into the box like I am typing text? Can someone help? I am usually pretty quick about these kind of things. Thanks.

No, that box is if you're going to upload a picture directly from your computer, and you're limited to a small amount of kb. Uploading a pic directly means TCS is hosting the picture. What everyone pretty much does is have someone else, like Photobucket, host the picture (take up the space on their server).

To include a picture in a post from a picture that has been uploaded to photobucket, what you're actually doing is using HTML code (the IMG tags) provided at photobucket.

So in a post you start here, you include the information from the photobucket site. You do this by clicking on the picture you want to post that you've uploaded to photobucket. (Once you're used to it, you can just use the drop down menu that pops up when you scroll over the pictures).

But here's what you're looking for: you click on the picture, it takes you out of your album and you see just that pic. There's a box called "Share this image." The bottom row of options is the IMG CODE. Copy that, and paste it in here.

I'm replacing the
with () so you can see what it would look like when you're creating a post:

(IMG)http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v3...v2002.jpg(/IMG)

You won't see the picture until you hit "Post Quick Reply"

WHAT a handsome boy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh he is so going to be inside with you at some point!
How can that tongue and that face not win over your wife?

I love the pic of him winking!

Now - get to work on that wedding photo album!
Maybe she'll give you a gift.... Big Head inside!

I'll have to take a picture of the orange boy we have at the shelter right now. His head is bigger than that.

When cats like that come in, if they are friendly, they're fully tested for disease, since toms get exposed to so much through fighting. If they aren't perfectly clean and gentlemanly, they get put to sleep, since it's very hard to break the bad habits intact toms have, even if they're neutered.

But we've had good luck with them, lately.
