couldn't agree with you more
One more reason to love DVR, I just fast forward thru those parts
that hour show ends up being 20 minutes

I'm watching again this year. Every year I say I'm not going to watch but then I seem to get sucked in. I always say "I hate this show" but then I ALWAYS watch it.

I voted for Alexis and Danny!

The only CD I've ever bought from an American Idol is David Cook.

That was one of the worst American Idol shows I have ever watched.
It was one trainwreck after another.

Pretty much.

I
Adam though (even though I hated his song choice and didn't think he did it very good. I know he can do better though, so I'm giving him another chance
)

that was beyond awful
out of the first 4, Nick/Norman was the best. Allison I thought did really well, that song was perfect for her and while Kris Allen and Matt? (the Welder) sang well, they were booooooring! I love Adam too
although I was not all that impressed last night, it was a bit screechy

so does anyone know exactly how this wild card thing is working? I heard that the judges would pick contestants to sing again and then choose the 3 spots from them, but how many get a second chance? is it a certain number from each show? or is it random

No idea. I was wondering that myself. If you look at the tv guide listings it shows the 3rd group of 12 for next week, but then the following week it shows the "Top 12" in the listing so I'm not sure we will even get to see when and how they choose the last 3.

Boy, there's a lot of duds this season. I liked Allison but supposedly she won $50,000 and a recording contract in '06. Okay then, so why is she on here?
It's annoying seeing people on AI that have already had recording contracts, etc. I thought American Idol was to find the "unknowns" out there!

I know what you mean. They are allowed though as long as they don't have a "current" contract with anyone. If they were good enough though, I wouldn't think they would need AI

Allison is only 16 though, so I'm not sure how true that rumor is for her...

Danny remains my favorite so far...
I hope that Allison stays.

I think the judges will just pick some singers that they think deserve a second chance, and then they will pick three to make up the top 12, at least that is the way that I understand it.

Nick/Norman was horrible to me, I didn't understand why they let him get on, and yet they cut Danny's best friend (Jamar)

I'm glad Adam made it!

I am a bit surprised that Megan didn't because the judges really liked her, but I kind of expect to see her brought back for the wild card round next week.

Overall I have to say this season has the most boring group of contestants though.

you said it, sister
boring!!!!!!!!!

hey, did anyone else notice that that Joanna Piccetti (?) is not in the top 36 anymore? One morning while I was waking up I thought I heard the radio DJs talking about that she wasn't going to be on anymore but I wasn't sure if I had dreamed that or not
apparently it was real
anyone know why? is it because she does have a current contract?

no contract, but apparently she had some friends in some company thats involved in AI. Not sure the details but they dropped her to prevent any drama I guess.

She was good but forgot her words all through Hollywood so technically she didn't deserve the spot anyways, since they passed on some others for just that reason.

I noticed yesterday that AI is scheduled for Tuesday, Weds and Thrus so I'm guessing the last 12 are the first 2 days and the wild cards are on Thurs. From what I understand, the judges are picking their choices but not a set number from each group.

That was baaaaad! There have been some pretty godawful performances this year! The girl with "the legs" was terrible.

He bugs me. In my mind, his name is "Twilight". That dude is trying way to hard to achieve that look.

The wildcard show is March 5th...set your DVR!

If they eliminated everyone who had a contract, or is somewhat of a professional, they'd have to eliminate most of the contestants. Adam/Twilight has been a professional most of his life, as are many of them.

Contrary to what all of the judges and producers (except Simon) say, this isn't even a singing contest. It's to create a packaged "product" with a built in fan base.

At least last night was a bit better than last week.
It wouldn't have been hard.

Alex Wagner-Trugman was bad, just excruciating really. The Meatloaf song was hysterical, the Abba song painful.

The blind guy was pretty good although a bit boring. Lil Rounds was good, but overhyped. I also liked the guy from Puerto Rico.

at least last night there was no one who was absolutely horrendous, last week was full of those

Alex's performance was very weird, what was up with the growling?? I hate Meatloaf, so Nathan's song just was really wrong, at least for me
and the girl that sang ABBA was a little full of herself, don't you think? all she kept saying was she was glad the judges didn't keep mentioning her looks
Honey, you're cute, but there are a lot of pretty girls in this competition.

Scott's performance was good, a little strained in places....at least I know what the name of that song is now, I always thought it was Madeliene (the name) Rain
I think he'll get thru.

I was all ready to be blown away by Lil Rounds and was left a little disappointed
I did really like Jorje, I thought he did an excellent job. I also thought Felicia, the replacement for Joanna, did pretty well too. I didn't vote
The only one I've been moved to vote for so far has been Noop-Dog so I really hope he gets in on a wild card

I really don't know if I'll watch the entire season this year: it's pretty much been a big disappointment IMHO. The only ones I've really liked at all so far is Oilrig Mike, Danny, & Allison. There have been a few others who aren't too bad, but all in all, this year's AI isn't what it used to be.

I almost wish Nick/Norman would have made it through. At least he was good for a laugh.

I missed the show tonight b/c my brother called and I was talking to him through the entire show. But I think I noticed out of the corner of my eye that Tatiana got a wild card spot.
Please tell me it isn't so!
I'll admit she has a good voice & all, but if I gotta listen to her hyena laughing one more time I'll barf!

Could someone please enlighten me as to who made it through?

I can't help much cause I've only watched it sporadically (as in--there's nothing else on, so I'll watch AI to kill some time). Unfortunately, Tatiana did indeed get a wild card spot. That girl is sooooo full of herself; she acts as if the entire show is just for her benefit. I hope she gets voted out for good this time.

I was so happy to see that Jorje got thru!!!

Also, was very scared when I didn't see Anoop in the group to possible be picked for a wildcard
but he was on the end with his head down most of the time, that's why I didn't see him....and they picked him!
I really think the judges will put him thru, especially if he sings well tonight. I think he already has a big fan base
I really hope Tatiana doesn't get thru
