Please Help! I’m in desperation. My Cat is diagnosed with „hypertrophic cardiomyopathy – HCM”. :-((( I don’t have enough money to buy this expensive chemicals for this heavy heart disease. Please help me to prolong his life. Please PM me for more information on how to help. I will be gratefull for any penny.

The needs of rescue workers are great and we recognize this fact. To care for multiple cats, find suitable homes, good vet care, food, etc. is costly. From time to time you will see some posts come up to ask for donations for a cause. It is YOUR responsibility to check out these solicitors to the best of your ability. More often, you will see pleas from individuals asking for money to be sent directly to them to assist with veterinary bills. Some come up with slick websites, others just have heartwrenching stories. In each of these cases, the poster is allowed ONE thread, to be placed in Cats SOS.

In either case, if you feel compelled to donate money ask for references, phone numbers, call around the area and find out if this is a legitimate cause or a scam. For personal pleas, get the veterinarianâ€[emoji]8482[/emoji]s contact information and send money directly to the veterinarian to help with bills for that particular cat. If that information is not available, you have the answer if the plea is legitimate or a scam.

Be very careful before you send any money: no matter how effective the plea is, check it out first before opening your wallet.

We had a cat in the shelter with HCM and the meds are very affordable - even in my city which has some of the most expensive vets around. I would get some 2nd opinions on the cost!

I agree on the second opinion and affordabibility of the meds. My male cat was diagnosed with HCM almost three years ago. He takes a beta-blocker daily and 1/2 of a baby aspirin twice a week and it costs less than $20 for three months.

Thanks very much for your posts. I live in Poland and I need 50$ every month, in the future perhaps more. I know, maybe for you it's not much but for me it is.
I wish everyone not to have problems like me!

How long can I expect he will live? Couple days ago he had "oedema pulmonalis" and he was diagnosed with HCM. He was in very bad condition but thanks meds now is better. He is 3 years old.
