I love reading the boards and figured it was about time that I start participating. I am the proud mom of now 14 cats, (we were cut off at 12 but my daughter found 2 4 week old kittens in a storm drain in October). I have a fairly big house so everybody gets along pretty well. Here's the list:
Pokey (flame pt himi)- the oldest he is 10 now
Minnie (gray tiger)- she's one of the heaviest a bit plump, she's 5
Spookie (tortie persian)- the least social, she's 5 as well
Lacey (lynx pt. ragdoll mix)- the mouth of the family, she's 3
Lissy (smokey gray)-she's 3
Louey (tuxedo polydactyl)- the biggest of the bunch, he's 3
Sammy (flame pt siamese)- he's 3
Sonny (flame pt siamese)- he's Sammy's twin, also 3
Sophie (blue pt. siamese)- she's Sammy's and Sonny's sister, also 3
Honey (buff tiger polydactyl)- she's 3 as well
Buffy (dilute calico polydactyl)- also 3
Phoebe (tiger looking brown)- she's our weird kitty that loves water, she's 3
Chewy (dilute calico)- new kitten 4 mos old was found outside and has a problem with her back legs, she has a bump on her spine and kinda limps when she walks and her butt curls to the left, but when she runs look out she is faster than the other kitties. She's in no pain and the vet said it is probably from some kind of injury before she was found or during birth and is surprised at how well she gets around!
Chloe (tiger)- also 4 mos she is Chewy's sister and is perfectly normal.
I didn't plan on having this many but I figured it was better than fostering since it would be so hard to let them go. I will still rescue any unwanted souls or homeless ones but as of this point they will be rehomed, I only kept Chewy and Chloe because of Chewy's disability I didn't want somebody to put her down if she was to get worse or incontinent. She is the most confident brave kitty in the bunch, there is nothing she can't do.
Okay on to me, My name is Barbara and I live in NY, I have a 12 year old daughter who helps me with the cats (okay when she feels like it!!) and a 17 year old son who does feed them occasionally but don't ask him to do the litter boxes. Oh and I'm married, my husband isn't a cat person but he tolerates them for me.
I'm so glad to meet people like me who are into cats as much as I am! Well I guess that's enough for the introduction. I will be posting more now!
