that you'd probably never do for anyone else?

It would have to be someone pretty darn special (like my son or granddaughter), before I'd consider cleaning up someone's poopy butt like I have to do for Cassidy b/c of her deformed tail, and Winchester when he gets diarrhea from taking his interferon for his FIP. Or cleaning up somebody's barf when they get sick.

Well, considering I clean up strangers poopie butts and their vomit too, I don't think there is anything I wouldn't do for my cats. Heck, they share my food and I still eat it even after they've been nibbling away or licking it!
If I didn't, I would starve or be eating inside a locked closet.

I've given up on trying to keep Pumpkin out of my food... at a certain point, I just resigned myself to the likelihood that I'm already carrying whatever bacteria she might have in her mouth. Of course, she also likes to lick my hair while I'm sleeping, so there's probably some similarity to be found there as well...

Zero, being a fast-growing, slightly clumsy powerhouse of an adolescent, has prevented my GF and I from getting a full night's sleep since mid October. So, I've been giving up sleep, and therefore my quality of life, and even sacrificing my job performance (Zero has morning kitten insanity around 5am, and I work in the evenings usually, bad combo)... but I had to adopt the little guy, because I wouldn't have been able to sleep at night anyway if he'd been hurt or killed while living on the street.

When we first took him in, I had to sleep downstairs on the sofa to keep him company... Pumpkin took a long time to tolerate his presence, so she stayed (willingly and comfortably) in the bedroom, while Zero had free run of the rest of the apartment. He'd get lonely and cry at the bedroom door if one of us wasn't with him, so there wasn't much else we could do but take turns on the couch.

If someone leaves me scarred for life from scratching me, I would probably do something nasty to that person. I would never harm my cats (or any other cat) from giving me claw marks.

I would do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING for my cats. That includes spending the last of the money in my pocket if they need food(but I know any of us would do that). I don't know if anyone remembers, but last year I was hit by a truck out front of my house. If 1 of my babies got out and was in the street, id run out to scare them away, and put my life on the line to save them. & I am DEATHLY afraid of getting hit again, so that says something coming from me.

I think the easier question might be what wouldn't we do. I would do just about anything for those I love... including my cats! Money however is a different matter. I don't lend family money but will help them out where I can but if one of my cat's needed extensive (and expensive) medical attention I wouldn't give it a secodn thought.

That reminds me...gotta find an attorney about a will. I'm single, so basically just had a bit of term life insurance from work and wasn't at all perturbed. Now, I'm afraid what will happen if I go before my kitties do....just got a nice decent sized hunk of group universal life insurance and will be looking into how to set up a trust and find a good shelter/group who will take care of my cats, if need be, with the idea that any money left over will go to the shelter. If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.
