No money to do anything tonight since I don't get paid until the 2nd. But I am not interested in going anywhere. Last year I went to a New Year's Eve Blast at the Crystal Palace when I won tickets. Last year was Gary Sinese and the Lt Dan Band, but this year, the radio station didn't give away tickets. I guess it was too costly, since the headliner was Dwight Yokum tonight.

I will try to stay awake but I don't know if I can

Me! me!
Had leftover meatloaf, one beer, watching old movies on Hulu.com and brushing Trace (kind of like brushing a big cotton ball

I just finished making scallops with broccoli. Hubby is going to make shrimp in a garlic wine sauce over rice in about an hour or so. We've had cheese and pate trays and cheese curds.

We have a bowl of fresh fruit - mangoes, apricots, black cherries, blackberries, blueberries all cut up together which we'll have over angel food cake for dessert.
Mmmmmm!
Can I come over?

I hate to be a New Year's scrooge, but it's still three hours away and I'm already fed up with it!
Everyone around here is shooting off fireworks, and my poor babies are all nervous and trying to crawl in my lap!

So much for a quiet start to the new year..

I had nothing planned except making homemade lasagna, but my brother IMed me and asked if I wanted to meet him at a Japanese restaurant we like, so I ended up having sushi, yum! Now I'm back home though just sitting around...a friend was going to come over but she decided to go to sleep early instead. I have some ingredients so I can make myself some artichoke cheese dip later if I want but right now I'm too stuffed to even think about it.
My only plans tonight are to drink some sparkling grape juice and watch the ball drop at midnight.

It's a little after 10 pm here and my boyfriend just went up to bed!

We went out for pizza and watched a movie - I liked it; he didn't it was "Miss Pettigrew Lives For A Day." It's definitely a chick-flick type movie.

I will be in bed before midnight. I don't do the crazy, drinking, out-all-night stuff ... gave that up long ago. I would rather just cuddle on the sofa or spend the evening with friends, etc.

I'm not doing anything, and I'm kind of disappointed by it. I've only ever gone out one time for New Year's eve, and the reason I'm not going out now is that I can't afford to. I even had a new dress to wear. (It was a Christmas gift.)

It's 10:14pm here and I just got home from work and the idiots are out in force on the roads. I haven't done anything on New Year's for the last eight years (pretty much when I started with the USPS). I just don't feel like being bothered with it. My party days are long behind me.

I have some pizza rolls in the oven and will sit down and play Rome:Total War for the next few hours and just relax. Tomorrow I'll be spending all day and most of the night on the couch watching college football. Go Bearcats!!

This is the first time in probably 35 years that I'm NOT working a New Year's Eve night shift. I usually volunteer even if it's not my scheduled holiday since I'm not really a party person, but they didn't need me this year.

So, here I am playing with my kittycats.
Oh, and hanging around TCS.
I've built a fire in the wood stove even though it's not terribly cold outside and we're all nice and cozy.

Happy New Year!!!

Our village does it's own ball drop, there's usually a few hundred people that come out to the village square, depending on the weather. Tonight it's 14 degrees. We put our pajamas on under our clothes for insulation and so we can go straight to bed when we get back.
It's a three block walk for us and we could hear the Elvis impersonator singing as we got up there. We counted down to the ball drop, kissed, blew our whistle and horn and walked back home. Happy New Year everyone.

My sister and I went out around five or a Chinese supper and then Mom and I channel surfed several TV stations trying to find something really good to watch. (wE FAILED). We finally ended up watching Dick Clark's NEW YEARS EVE show, and had snacks and a glass of champagne. It's about a quarter till one in the morning and I'm on TCS and drinking my second glass of champagne. Probably go to bed in a few minutes.

I'm having a crappy NYE too. My cat has cancer, so I haven't been in a partying mood for awhile. There are plenty of things to do in the Bay Area but I didn't feel like dealing with huge crowds, traffic, drunk drivers, etc.

Nonetheless, I did go to a party tonight for about *TEN* minutes. I didn't know this woman too well but she is very nice and invited me to her party. Unfortunately, I couldn't find parking and had to park very far away on MacArthur Blvd, which is a sketchy street in Oakland. I couldn't help but think that someone would break into my car. When I arrived at the party, I didn't know anyone and it was super crowded. I kept on going in circles trying to figure out my place but to no avail. I secretly sneaked out about 10 minutes later. I feel bad about that but I just wanted to be at home. I brought a platter of cookies but did not have the chance to eat one!

Now I am happy at home with my two cats. At midnight, we will head over to the deck and watch the fireworks. I live in a penthouse apartment with a million dollar view overlooking the Bay Area. I can see firework displays from all corners of the Bay Area including Oakland, San Francisco, and Marin. I can't wait!

Happy New Year to everyone!

I sat home with nothing to do for new year's! I rang in the new years sitting on the couch, talking to my dad and my brothers on the phone. I live 6 hrs away from them and miss them terribly.

Well I went into town, had too much to drink and ate far too much Burger King at 4am.

It is now 12.30 AM on the 2nd of January and I still feel yuck!

Even though I am fighting the cold from the black lagoon....

my fiance and I still did our traditional New Years Eve (acutally its my tradition since this started WAY WAY before I even met him but now its our tradition since he enjoys it as much as I do)

We met up at a Japanese Resturant (our usual place was closed for renovation so we ended up at a Japanese/chinese place this year still good though) with members from my dojo. (ie our sensei's and fellow classmates) AFter that we then headed to the sensei's house (we are all good friends they don't invite EVERYONE from the dojo just those who are acutal friends of theirs) for dessert (we all bring something. this year I bought a chocolate and guinness cheesecake) and we play board games until 11:45 when we switch on the TV and watch the ball drop. After that...we just sit around and gossip and chat until about 2 and all go home. Very fun...and VERY relaxing.

I had modest plans to play Scrabble with my downstairs neighbors, but they didn't get home from a family dinner until it was too late, so even those plans got scrapped.

I stayed in and watched a bunch of episodes of Cold Case that I have on my DVR.

Today I'm going to work...12 hours of fun!
