Last night was frozen pizza.
Tonight is the rest of the pork roast.
Oh that sounds YUM!!
David is so picky about cheese, he calls all the Italian cheeses I like, Stinky Cheese

Salmon is on sale at my grocery store, so I just have to figure out which way I want to make it, probably grilled with brown sugar glaze. I am going to try a new recipe from Cooking Light for cauliflower gratin and I will make couscous as well.

Got a couple of pork patties left from the other night. The Boy, when consulted, thought he'd like smashed potatoes and gravy with them. Lots of interesting veg around -- I'll pick one.

Didn't get to the chocolate mug cake last night. Hoping to fix that tonight.

Got burritos from Green Burrito tonight.
After spending hours sorting all that mail after the holiday and spending hours in the rain and wind delivering it, it was all I could do to go through the drive thru.

I've been craving spaghetti, so I hope to make that tomorrow. It's doubtful though. Looks like tomorow will be much like today....without the rain.

A friend/church member of my sister's is recouperating from surgery so the sunday school class all volunteered to make dishes. Today was Sis's turn and she started making a lasagna. Hubby said where's the lasagna for the rest of us? So sis had to hit the store for more ingredients and also some creme de menthe for a dessert she makes.

So, thanks to BIL, we all got lasagna and creme de menthe brownies.

For anyone who wants a fast chocolate cake hit -- not gourmet, but totally satisfactory for a fast dessert or snack...

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour
4 tablespoons sugar
2 tablespoons cocoa
1 egg
3 tablespoons milk
3 tablespoons oil
3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)
a small splash of vanilla extract
1 large coffee mug

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.
Pour in the milk and oil and mix well.
Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.
Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.
The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!
Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.
EAT!

It's enough for two and is really quite decent and not too sweet/rich.

I'm going to try that mug cake at the weekend, because i have a massive mug that Karen sent me over last year that would be perfect for it

I roasted my broccoli as well and it was really lovely!!

It's housework night tonight so i usually eat after i've done it, but it's usually something quick. I think i'll do spaghetti bolognase and get some crusty bread on the way home

I am making a big pot of chicken vegetable soup today. I wanted to do a few containers for the freezer so thought that would be a good project for a rainy day.
So soup, crusty bread, and fresh fruit for dessert for me.

I'm coming over for dinner!

I think I'm going to attempt to make homemade pizza
This should be interesting
If it fails, it will be another night of frozen pizza, or cereal

I went to APPLEBEE'S with my club for our

'Thanksgiving" supper. I had shrimp and parmegon on steak with sides of broccoli and garlic mashed potatoes, a couple of Classic Tonics with gin, and for dessert, a bananna milkshake. YUMMY!

Work wasn't so bad today, I got off fairly early and had a good nap. So I made spaghetti. Yummy!!! With garlic bread sticks.

Probably going to be something frozen or fast food tonight. I may get a brisket or something this weekend and try another crockpot recipe!

Last night was totally on the run. Tonight, however, is Friday. That means a nice dinner, and usually some company (must confirm with R&A).

All the talk in another thread earlier in the week about roasts and Yorkshire Pudding and whatnot set my mouth watering, so I think I need to see what my butcher has to offer. And if I like it, I think it's going to be roast beef with all the trimmings. After which we'll want something not too heavy for dessert, and I may resort to another favourite we haven't had for a while: Gelato Spazzacamino.

My mother went to a holiday bazaar at a Polish church today and brought back pierogis for me.
So I'm only a week late.

I LOVE pierogis. I actually made them from scratch once and it took most of a day to make about 6 dozen of them. You have to totally appreciate anyone that takes the time to make them. My DH is 100% polish and his grandmother used to make them all the time.

Tonight for dinner? DH was out of town all week on business, and it was his birthday on Wednesday. So tonight I'm making a stuffed chicken, fresh broccoli, mashed potatoes and mushroom gravy (think thanksgiving meal with chicken instead of turkey). I have an angel food cake with fresh strawberries for dessert.
