I always thought it was buttzee. Thought it was a unique name and actually grew to like it. Since everyone else here thinks the wrong name, I say you re-learn OUR pronounciation

My goodness! All of us with such different pronunciations for our kitties.

Our vets and assistants call her "Boot zee" because she has 4 white paws and they thought that that is why I named her.

I love your posts to this!

Butzie is much cuter!
me, too!
mine are pretty ordinary pronunciations - kā′bǝl, [Cable]; fīr′fōks, [Firefox]; jâ′vâ, [Java]; ʧhĭp′, [Chip]; & pĭ′ksǝl [Pixel]...
Firefox's other name [her 'call name'
] is pronounced pü
tŭr bŭg ['Puter Bug].

I always thought it was Butt-zee too!

Our names are a little harder to pronounce. The vets always mess them up, even with the pronunciations on the paperwork.

Kairi is "ky-ree" or "kie(like pie)-ree"

Namine is like saying the word "nominate" without the "te" or "nah-mi-nay"

My fiance named Kairi from the video game Kingdom Hearts, and Namine is also from that game as well.

I thought it was Butt-zee too!
And I even made up a story of how she got her name. She's called "Butt-zee" because she likes to give head butts!

Nova is easy... No-vuh.

At the kitty's beck and call
I'm afraid she was Butt-zee to me too

All my kitties' names are pretty obvious (to me anyway), Felicity (or Fliss); Adelaide (or Addie) and Tolstoy (or Tolly) seem pretty straight forward.

Lily's everday name is also pretty straightforward, but her "Sunday" name is a little less run of the mill. Her full name is Lili'a'nani (Lily-a-narney) and means Beautiful Lily.

I think Demetri and Farley are pretty straight forward, I've had people say Anastasia's name as Ana-star-sia I say it ana-stay-sha

Another vote for Butt-zie. I always thought, "What an odd name!"

Cleo, Maggie, and Lola. Pretty hard to mispronounce. Although Maggie actually thinks her name is.....Maggie, NO!!!!!

I also thought it was buttzee
I just thought it was a very unique name.Sorry

Yam I thought that you must be a Kingdom Hearts fan or Kingdom Hearts fan named or helped you name your kitties

Zippy and Pumpkin are easy to pronounce.I don't think I have ever had a pet with a hard name to pronounce.

Another butzie mispronouncer here....so sorry!

lets see.....living kitties, Babycakes, Tiger, Garfield, and my temporaries....Miss Black, Izzy, Henry, Lil Sis, Tab, Noisy.....all pretty much straightforward

Mr. Blue Snuggles nickname is heifer.....like a cow, and pronounced that way

RB kitties....Rusty, Gizmo, Miss Kitty, Sweet Pea, Little Bit and Jewel...like they're written,
But Rurnt is pronounced more "ruint", like spoiled milk than anything else (although her reigstered name is Miss Twinkletoes, lol!)

Haha yea my fiance was a big Kingdom Hearts fan awhile ago. He still is, but not as much. I think they're cute names! They're not like the common ones people use.

Spud is pretty hard to mistake as anything else. I thought Thai was also pretty easy, like Thailand. But The last time I took him to the vet there was a new receptionest, and she was looking at the screen and moving her mouth around. Finally asked me how to pronouce it. She was trying to pronounce it thigh-aa-ee instead of sounds like tie.

Everyone gets poor Arkose's name wrong!!! They always want to say "Ar-cozy" but its "Ar-koe-s" (its a name of a rock
). And then Orianna is just a mouth full for people, but pronounced how it looks "Ore-e-an-na"

Apparently EVERYONE has trouble with getting their cats names pronounced right

I always thought it was Butt-zee, too. I'm so sorry! Boot-zee is so much cuter. So sorry Butzie! I will get your name right, I promise!

@ yam102284 - I am a fan of Kingdom Hearts, so I did pronounce your kitties' names right! They are very pretty!

As for mine, Pixel is obvious.

Bamf on the other hand seems to give the vet techs confused expressions every time. I am not even sure how to type it out. It is pronounced exactly as it is spelled, phonetically. Bam...fffff. Only without dragging out the "f". For anyone who is a fan of the X-men, "Bamf" is the noise that Nightcrawler makes when he teleports.

You can also check out the opening seen to the movie X-men 2, where you will see Nightcrawler doing a LOT of "bamfing."

My RB kitty, Mithril, might be difficult for some. Her name is pronounced "Myth-rill." It is a very precious, very strong metal from the Lord of the Rings.

Me 32...I thought it was Buttzee. I thought it rymed with Budgee though! So it made sence to me! LOL

Boooooootsy is so much cuter though. I will have to retrain my thought process. Poor kitty. All of us thinking his name wrong.

Our kitties:

Polly (as it sounds. She is a polydactil)
Little Boy, aka Goober, LB, Luv Bug and Handsome LOL (I guess he never really got an official name. My husband and I couldn't agree on anything.)

Momma aka Mia (mee-a) The stray momma kitty we are fostering

Her 7 week old brew...

The all white twins:
Emma (who we will be keeping)
Zellie (zelly) aka NOT EMMA

The orange tabby twins:
Wilma (she has 3 ferrat siblings she will join soon named pebbles bambam and dino)
Tom aka NOT WILMA

Then three orange and white triplets:
Lewis
Clark
Xander (zander)

whew...that's a lot of cats for us!!

Yep, I'm pretty sure of being guilty also
The first time I met Butzie she probably got called Buttzie
Her name has such a cute story.

Kitty and Holly have it pretty easy.

However, my name gets messed up alot! It's Brooke, but people call my Brookeeeeee alot.
There are so many celebrities named Brooke! Drives me crazy! Anyhow, back to the cats names...
