Kitty wont eat the healthy cat food

I got my new kitty some Maxximum cat food from Wal-Mart since several people on here suggested it as a healthy cat food.

But my new kitty wont eat it! I seemed to really like Meow Mix, which is what I got him at first not knowing it was so unhealthy for him. He wont even touch the Maxximum stuff. How do I get him to eat it?

I feed him wet food too, so I mixed some of the Maxximum into the wet food and added a bit of warm water too, and he did eat all of it that way. But I'd like him to eat the dry stuff too.

Should I mix Meow Mix and Maxximum for a while until he gets used to it?

Yes, slowly add more and more of the Maxximum to the Meow Mix.

Most of the store brands are pretty strong-smelling to the cat, so the cat likes them more than the more bland but better foods. Kind of like someone putting a bowl of penne fra diavolo and a bowl of cooked carrots in front of you. The carrots may be better for you, but they aren't more appealing.
