I think she's pregnant. Her nipples are getting large and her stomach is growing. Urgh...I have no idea what to do. This is the last thing I need right now, and while yes, kittens are cute, the last thing I really need is Clementine to be preg, especially, since I can't keep her inside, which is where a pregnant cat should be.
I want to keep this girl so bad, and am prepared now to go through a pregnancy. However, I am not at all prepared for kittens! The little things deserve to have good, warm, loving homes, and I don't honestly know if I can do that for them. (I certainly can't take in any other cats, I've reached my limit with Clementine.)

I'll keep you guys updated on her situation. I'm making a spay appointment with the vet on Monday, so hopefully this is just a false alarm!

Okay, my mom and I have worked out a plan. I'm making an appointment with out vet on Monday to get spayed. If when we bring her in he determines she's able to be spayed (not too thin/pregnant), we'll go ahead with the surgery. If she's just too thin I'll keep workin gwith her weight to get it up, then we'll bring her in when it's stable. If she's pregnant and cannot be spayed we'll keep her and the kittens. It'll be my job to start looking for indoor homes for kittens ASAP (young kittens outdoors in the winter is NOT a good idea, I'm sure you'll all agree).

I feel much better now that I have a plan!
I'm crossing my fingers that all will go well when we bring her in and she'll be able to get spayed then, though.

Hiya,

If she is indeed preggo, you will still need to plan to have her spayed after her delivery, which is normally at around 5 weeks while she is starting to wean off her kittens. Good Luck! Keep us updated so we know her status for sure. For now, please keep her indoor so that if it is indeed a false alarm, she would not have the change to mate with a tom and really get pregnant.

Gimme a holler if I can do anything to help - I'd come get her but I'm afraid it's a bit of a trip from me to you.

She's fully indoors until she's spayed and fully recovered from it. After that she'll have to be indoor/outdoor (my dad is not thrilled with indoor cats) but since she's been outdoor for her whole life until now, I have no fear of her not transitioning to a partially outdoor life.
Thanks for the offer, Natalie - I'll definitely keep that option in mind if I need any help with anything!

The spay date is set for Wednesday the first. If the vet can't feel kittens he's going to go ahead with the spay. However, if he can, it looks like we're going have some new additions to the household in a couple of months!
The idea is growing on me, but I do hope she'll be able to get spayed that day.

So today is the big day! Clementine has an appointment with the vet to either a)get spayed if the vet can't feel babies, or b)not get spayed if the vet can feel babies. I'm at a loss myself because she feels like she's early on in a pregnancy but her nipples aren't showing signs. Maybe its worms? If she is pregnany I don't want to use any dewormers without the vets permission, so I'm just waiting it out. Y'all should have an update on her situation within a couple of hours.

She didn't get spayed even though the vet said that he doesn't hink she's pregnant. The lady that scheduled the spay appointment actually didn't schedule us at all, so now we have tyo schedule it for a different day. We're going to a different vet now even though the new vet is much further away than the one we were going to because they have much better bedside manner and can actually schedule the right thing!
At least she's probably not going to have any kittens!

I was hoping I could too! It looks like that's not in the cards, though...her appointment is on October 27th. That was the earliest spay date they had open.
At least she's away from all male cats that could get her pregnant until then, though...

I'm getting distinct "I'm Preggers" vibes from Clementine. The vet said he didn't feel any, but it was probably too early to/they were further up by her ribcage and were hiding. At any rate, her nipples are turning a bit pink when they weren't a few weeks ago, and it's just been arout four weeks since I got her, which makes it at the three-four week period where they start showing symptoms, if I'm not mistaken!

I'm still keeping my fingers crossed that it's all my imagination, but I'm sort of doubting that she's not preg.

By four or more weeks along the nipples are very rosy colored and are fully pertruding out(usually) and the belly is really round. I have two that are preggars in their 5 weeks and we could see obvious signs with the nipples by 2 and half weeks. There was really no doubt...

When my Meeko was preg I took her to the vet and asked him and even he wasnt sure.
Her nipples were pinkish red.
In fast she had Yoshi 2 weeks after seeing the vet and never showed.
That was 6 years ago.
There was just 1 kitten.

That's why I'm so unsure. When Twix was preggers she had large litters - six the first time, five the second. There was no doubting the fact that she was going to have kittens for quite a few weeks before. (She's spayed now.) Clementine has had only one litter, and it was of three kittens. That's not exactly big! She was definitely pregnant beforehand, but I only was able to tell a couple weeks before she had the kittens. This time, if she is indeed preg, probably won't be any different.

A couple thing I noticed is that her belly has been getting larger, but not out to the sides. It's a bit...saggy. Not completely, or enough that I would worry about it, it's just that it doesn't look pregnant until she sits/lays down. That's when she gets me guessing about her status.
I'm just not sure about it at all - one day I think she isn't, one day I think she is. What can I say about this girl...she keeps me guessing!

I have only had 2 preg cats Meeko and Coco.
Coco was huge and there was no doubt at all.
Meeko you would never have known.
She is fatter now then she was when she was preg.
It is possible your cat is preg and only having 1.
Coco had 5 but the last two were dead.
Meeko just had Yoshi and I lost him last Jan at age 5.
If she is lets hope its only 1 kitten.

Goldy never really looked pregnant when she was standing up until the last few days before she delivered three kittens. Even when she was laying on her side it wasn't obvious. From reading here and other sources I think her kittens were also smaller than average.

Surprise!!!
When Zelda was preggers I didn't see any signs till she was 5 weeks along, and then at 6 weeks she was bulging, but not big at all. By 7 - 8 weeks she was HUGE.

Most cats do not show the slightest till about 5 weeks, after that they begin to show and show more.

Well, if my guess is correct she's at five weeks right now. However, since I got her on the sixteenth and she could have gotten preggers any time before that and just might not be showing a lot, she could be much further along. I have a couple pictures of her (sorry about the bad quality!) I'm going to post that I just took a couple minutes ago.
She doesn't look very pregnant in them, and her nipples don't look very pink at all, but I think that's because she's probably only going to have a small litter.

If she is preg, the possible dad are a) a shorthair red classic tabby, b) a shorthair black and white, c) a medium-long gray (blue?) tabby, d) a shorthair black, and e) a shorthair light colored pointed cat with white. A and B are definite males, and I'm nearly positive she mated with A (and I'm nearly positive I've seen several brown tabbies around our area). At any rate, give me your opinions. Do you think she's pregnant, and if she is, any idea what the kitten(s) colors might be? Clementine is a brown patched tabby.

Her nipples look about like Goldy's did. They were prominent but didn't turn dark pink until after she had the kittens. This is what she looked like less than two weeks before she delivered, so maybe 7 weeks pregnant.

Goldy only had three kittens. If Clementine isn't showing much she may have a small litter. Or she may just be hiding them well.

I'm not entirely sure if your cats pregnant or not. But my cat looks exactly like yours. Same shape, same sized nipples and she tends to have a huge appetite! If my cat is pregnant she's atleast a few weeks.if you recon your cat is pregnant then listen to the following things cats do when pregnant:heat cycles increase, loads of affection!, nipples enlarge and turn pink ( this is also known as pinking to most cat breeders), lower abdomen enlarges (it also keeps on growing until birth), big appetite!, but warning some cats tend to get morning sickness. That's pretty much all I know about how pregnant cats act. So hope I've helped you in any way. GOODLUCK!!!!! ;)
