ARE YOU THE “CRAZY CAT LADY†OF YOUR TOWN????

I think I am - well, one of several. I live on a hill alone with my two furry babies and talk about them at the drop of a hat. I am very much a loner, recluse. My neighbours can probably hear me “talk cat chat†with my kitties. I collect cat ornaments and other cat items such as brooches, pictures, household items, garden statues…

I am proud of my status as the “Crazy Cat Ladyâ€, and am always on the lookout for more ways to cultivate this image.
I went into town on the bus dressed in my “cat clothes†on Halloween last year. I got a few compliments, but mostly suspicious stares.

I know a couple of other, older “Crazy Cat Ladies†in my town and when I see them in the street we talk about our shared passion.
Had I been born in another era, I probably would have been burnt at the stake after being accused of being a witch.:witch: You see, I am unusual looking :martian: and often dress in a non-conventional manner and use a lot of herbs and oils and potions… and live with cats...
But this is a position in "society" I do not mind occupying at all!!!

How about you?

I am the crazy cat lady at work. Everytime someone has a question I get asked, or if they are giving cats away, I get told. Gotta love it

I'm definately the crazy cat lady at work, but in all of Cleveland? I'm sure there are one or two that beat me.

lol yes, I seem to turn into "the cat lady" anywhere I go. That was my nick name at one former work place in Maine. My fiance says we live in a zoo.

I'm definitely the crazy cat lady of my 'hood!
I feed all the ferals ... maybe even the cats who have homes! I leave bowls of food all over the neighborhood (so each cat will have a "territory") and fill the bowls each day. Everybody thinks I'm out of control, but I just couldn't bear knowing that cats were out there hungry. Now I'm working on getting friendly with them so that I can get them altered and other healthcare. Check out this site -- see, there are many like us!

Princess Purr: You are right there are a few of us/them on this board. I don't know if they are, but now I'm kinda interested.

Maybe, I know there are some jewish and christian's here. I don't think we've ever had a religion thread however.

Hi harrythecat, I checked out that site you recommended and it's really cute. i might have to join - if only to receive a membership card to flash at those who "mock" me!!! crazy Cat Ladies ( and men ) RULE!!!!

Princess Purr - I am very interested in "WICCA", or "folk magic" and have recently joined a related site.

http://www.magick.com.au

It just seems so natural to be connected to the earth and animals and be a cat lover at the same time...and practice this kind of "magic" - or "craft" - if you like...

I only have three, but my co-workers are like.. "You have THREE cats?!?!?!?!?!".
I would have more if I owned a house but living in an apartment and having 3 cats is very tough. One day I will own a house and I'll have a bunnnnch of cats

I think I'm considered a crazy cat lady  I'm getting famous lately with interviews and articles in all the Israeli national papers and major tv and radio channels. Cats are not as popular here as they are in other countries so I'm afraid just being all about cats and their welfare tags me as "crazy". I think my family decided I was nuts the day I rescued a chicken that our dog brought home and took it to the vet and all. Ever since then they just nod their heads whenever I do another rescue
My MIL will still occasionally say something, but they've learned to live with it (I hope).

I think the religion and politics thread was somewhere else on the board. I to grew up as a wiccan/pagan, so not only am I labeled a crazy lady but also the crazy witchy lady. The only part that seems to offend me is the 'lady' part. Geez, I'm only 24, I'm still a miss or kid, PLEASE.
It seems that as one kitty turns a year old another slizzlers into our home, Lic is half way there, so I've got my guard up already. His 2 sibilings that we rescued at same time luckily were adopted. He/she was just to mean back then, now he is very cuddly.
