I adopted my kitty Yuki from a man where I go to college a little over a week ago. Minus a few bumps along the way, he is a great cat.

When the man first found him, his back legs were manged and full of blood from what looks like a raccoon or cat attack and he was covered in motor oil. Low and behold under all that oil was a beautiful flame point siamese kitty.

He's a healthy seven month old kitty now, but he still has some trace motor oil on the base of his tail.

What's the best way to get the oil off without terrorizing the poor guy?

A bath using groomers' goop unfortunately is the best way to get rid of any kind of grease/oil...

Oooooh, a flamepoint (OK - red-point to all you Siamese experts
). We need pictures.

Abymummy probably has the best advice for cleaning the tail. Then we want pictures!

Haha I have pictures posted up in the photo section. I'm so tempted to get another Siamese. I fell in love with one at the Humane Society. His points are going to darken up I'm expecting when he gets older.

to both!
if you can't get groomer's goop [i wouldn't even know where to look
] then you can also use original formula Dawn dishwashing liquid... altho that would still entail a bath!

We used to live near a bus station and Dillon came home one day with his paws covered in oil. I filled the sink just a couple of inches and used washing up liquid and rinsed thoroughly. He only had his paws in the water and the kitchen floor ended up swimming in water and he was clawing down my back to get out! It was a terrible ordeal, but necessary.

Try some Goop to see if it will get it off. If its into the skin it may take awhile or it could be permanent. Thanks for rescuing him and I'd like to see pictures of your little Red Point
