Hello all,

I am currently fostering a feral cat in my household for the time being to help out someone who rescues cats. As much as I would like to help this cat myself, I currently have too many cats and we cannot find anyone who will adopt him. It also does not seem as if he would be able to adjust well to "household" life so it would be hard to put him up for adoption. He interacts well with domestic cats but is absolutely terrified of humans. We have estimated his age to be about 5 years.

We are now trying to look for sanctuaries that would take this feral cat as we do not want to send him back out into the streets (NYC streets are pretty rough for cats).

He wasn't part of a colony and was a lone cat that was abused by other cats in the neighborhood where he was taken from.

Any help would be appreciated, since the sanctuaries that I have found are a bit too far to travel to. Or if you know of any organizations that might have some ideas about feral cat sanctuaries that would be great too!

Thanks!

These website might be useful?

Bless you for caring. I have 4 former ferals at home
2 of my own colony cats that adjusted very well
to indoor/outdoor living, one of whom is quite friendly
to my BF and others, the other not so much. I also
have 1 kitten rescue who turned out not to adapt well,
so I kept her and she is quite nice to me, and then
Frodo, my Siamese Snowshoe who has gone from
"feral" to quite a nice cat...

So I understand your hesitation, in brining him in,
and wanting to find a good home for him..
