The fact that you missed the thread and started another isn't an issue (people are posting, aren't they?), but I always wonder about the people who comment and have commented in a previous thread or three and act as if the topic has never been discussed before.
I suppose you see similar patterns in posts you have to edit or delete - people repeating things they've previously been told not to post. Is it forgetfulness? persistence, or just the desire to be part of a group/group discussion? (completely O/T, sorry.)

I wear my watch on my right hand, I hate having to look at the cellphone for the time, I find it really unprofessional especially at work.

I don't think it's a generation thing as some of my students are 50+ and don't wear them because of their cellphone.

I broke the glass on my watch last week and I miss it terribly!

I think many are just being polite, because they realize people (like me) have missed very similar threads.

You're right, there are plenty of older people who also rely on their cell phones for the time, but I'm under the impression that even more younger people do

You can probably get the crystal replaced at a jewelers. You might want to check out amazon.de Marketplace, as Casio watches are on sale right now at very steep discounts.

I think I'm probably so dependent on watches and the "correct time" from teaching for so many years, with a different timetable every day, and a twice-early schedule change. Commuting by rail just adds to it.

We've got four radio-controlled clocks (kitchen. living room, bedroom and bathroom), and two of my watches are radio-controlled. My husband only wears his watch to work, because he says there are clocks all over the house, which isn't really true.

I don't wear a watch. When I did, I didn't keep it on all the time because it was kind of annoying, and I forgot to put it on anyway. I use my cell phone for checking the time.

I never wear a watch. I think the last time I wore one was probably 10 years ago. I always have my cell phone on me, and that's what I use to check the time, besides clocks on computers and in the car and such.

i try not to... because, many times, those 'repeat' threads are started by newbies who don't realize that it is a repeat. easier just to respond again... altho i've been posting more links recently & shortening my posts accordingly.

I wear a watch almost all the time. It only comes off when I scrub for surgery. As soon as I break scrub, I wash my hands, and then put my watch back on. I take it off when I go to bed. I suppose I could use my pager at work, because it has a clock on it, but cell phones have to be turned off in the O.R., so that isn't an option for me.

It's interesting that so many people depend on their cell phones rather than a watch. My students aren't allowed to have their phones on in class, unless they have young children, so they're constantly asking if the classroom clocks are showing the correct time. Some wiseguys/gals will change the time because they want to get out of class five or ten minutes early.
The titanium is great, is elegant and gorgeous....I prefer it overall all kind of commoun metals...
I mean don´t like the brighteness metals after some touches you should to clean it a lot...
I hate the finger prints over a metal with bright...

the question really is interesting,...I wonder to all those people who said "I watch it on my cell phone" ....HOW do it before exist the Cell phone?....I´m so sure the answer was, I had a watch,...
....
In short, the cell phone came to make competition at the clock...

When I was teaching, had meetings to go to and planes and trains to catch, YES I wore a watch all the time.
Now that I have my own business and can structure my own day, I only wear a watch when travelling. Interestingly I can no longer wear some of my favorite watches.
I need reading glasses and some of the faces are so hard to read, I needed up having to get new watches with big, easy to read faces.

Nope, don't wear a watch anymore. I used to, though.

When I need to check the time, I usually check my cell phone. :")

Same here. I always hated big, conspicuous watches, but now find I can't read tiny faces, so I've had to replace my "dainty" watches.

Don't you encounter trouble when your cell phone battery is low, or there's no service? I have a prepaid cell phone for calls/text messages from German Telecomm, because it works wherever I travel, but I've found the time display unreliable when the battery is running low, or I'm in an area not covered by their or a partner's service. I also have a Vodafone PDA with an Internet/email flat rate for Germany, but at least once or twice a month the whole network collapses for minutes or even several hours.

My cell phone rarely runs out of battery. I keep it pretty charged, and even if it were low (and beeping) while I'm out, it still goes for a long time. I found the clock there to be very reliable, even when it is low on battery. The time display is still there when I've no service.

I've noticed the same thing; that people don't wear watches as much any more. I don't wear one because I get compulsive about checking it, and there are clocks everywhere if you need to check the time.

My iPod has a clock, though, and I do check that sometimes (not compulsively, thankfully).

You can find me at Disneyland!!!!
I wear a watch ALL THE TIME!!! In fact I cant STAND not wearing a watch (If I cant find a watch, then I go buy another one). I HAVE to know what time it is. A few days ago I had to go buy another watch because my cat Cali took off with my watch and hid it. But my watches must be digital. I dont like trying to figure out what time it is by looking at and counting hands. I like to quickly look.

This is weird, because my identical twin sister (THEZOOKEEPER) is the exact oppisite. She cant stand wearing watches. VERY rarely do you see her wearing a watch.
