I'm a very affectionate cat owner. I love petting my little kittens.

One thing I noticed, if I pet them down their back, when I get towards the end they're skin all bunches up like it's really irritating them. So I stopped doing it.

Does it bother them to stroke them all the way to their tail?

One of them has really stated getting too clingy. I don't mind when she comes up and demands lovin. she'll crawl up my chest and lay down smashing her face into mine which is cute. But she's started doing it 7 to 10 times a day, and man when I'm trying to concentrate on something it gets really annoying. I feel terrible putting her down, but when I need to focu and she comes up, i pick her up and set her on her blanket (i keep it right next to my monitor). I swear she looks dejected. I have to do this 4 or 5 times in a row, then she'll squat and just look at the ground until she falls asleep. Can we say guilt trip?

Will she likely do this as often as now for the rest of her life?

Hey, I'd be interested to hear about what it means when they bunch their skin up when you pet their back as Villy does it too.

I noticed with Kitty that when I stroke all the way along to his tail, he either turns and goes to bite or he will lift his bum up and his tail goes right up.

One thing he really likes is if I`m sat on the sofa and he jumps up he likes me to tuck his rear end under my arm pit! He loves it!
He keeps his bottom pushed up there and I clamp my arm down and tickle his front end. He`s a weirdo

I think that area is just naturally a little more sensitive in cats - maybe more nerves there. Even though they twitch, it doesn't hurt them unless there's a problem such as arthritis in the hips. In which case, if the cat is in pain from the petting it will let you know.

No. If it bothers them, they'll go away or swat/bite your hand.

Yes, unless you let her know you do not like it. I have 3 clingies. If it gets too much for me, I am not ashamed to let them know. They'll not be offended.

Could you all just think if our cats did nothing that was silly or different. WE would have nothing to talk about. I love the butt arm pitt thing. Thanks for the giggle!

Murray sticks his butt up in the air if I pet him down on his lower back. I guess that means he likes it! He also loves having his head scratched.

Simba - well, he doesn't like to be touched at all. Unless it is being rubbed by your foot.
