Hello!
Can anyone tell me if honey and olive oil are safe for cats? I left a bowl with some olive oil in it on the table and my kittens licked it dry so I wanted to make sure it was safe... I know some people give their dogs olive oil for their coats but was not sure about cats?

Just curious about the honey because it was in a dog/cat treat recipe I was looking at.

Olive oil will probably help them with hairballs I would think. My homemade recipes vary and one does call for olive oil.
I think like sharky said that honey is not great for cats. I am sure I read that in one of my Nutrition books.

Just shooting from the hip here, I'd have to say that while honey in small amounts wouldn't be harmful to a cat, but it's calories they don't need. I don't think cats taste "sweetness" very much, so it doesn't have a big draw for them.
