David C has the voice for the modern/young folks music and has more maturity to be able to handle the win. So for that reason I believe he should win.

David A has the better voice technically but is very young and I don't think he would be able to handle the win as well as David C. David A also has a strong "stage father" to deal with and seems like the type of kid that would go along with whatever dad wanted which may or may not be a good thing. Once he has aged and matured a bit, this boy is going to dazzle the world and do very well for himself but for now he should not win.

I'm not a huge fan of either one. I guess I have a slight preference for David A, and I think he will win. I don't dislike David C, I just think singers who sound like him are a dime a dozen.

Our problem was that Simon was too harsh on David C. all night. He didn't perform badly at all, and it was obvious that he worked hard all week. I think the suggestion that he should have sang "Billie Jean" or something he already sang was kind of silly. Why be boring?

David A. DID perform well, BUT I wish he would have sang something different than "Imagine" for his final song. I do think it was his best performance all season, but it sounded exactly the same....oh and this is not against David A, but doesn't Clive know that "Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me" was sang by Clay Aiken in HIS AI finale....geesh!

P.S. David C. is winning according to dial idol....

I agree, my mom wants him to win.. she watches Idol every week and is like "I love David A.. he's gonna win!!"

I don't really have a guess though, because shortly after auditions, I went out of town for five weeks and didn't watch an episode of Idol then, and haven't been keeping up..

I've been a big David C fan and I still am, but unfortunately I don't think his performances were good enough to win over Gaspuletta. I absolutely can't stand David A, but might as well fast forward over tonight's results show because he's gonna be the winner.

David A will fade into obscurity and David C , win or lose, will go on to have a good career, like Daugherty.

I'm not a "teeny-bopper" either, and I like David A. better.

It's too late to change my vote here, but I can change my opinion. After watching last night's performance, I'm thinking that maybe David A. will win now.
He was just AWESOME!

I know a lot of peeps think David A. is "boring", and he's bored me too once or twice. But he CAN sing fantastically, and I for one love his voice.

It's a tough one - that's for sure. It could go either way..

Which ever way it ends up, both of them have careers ahead of them. They're both good, and they won't go unnoticed!

It's gonna be an exciting night!!

David A is the first person who I thought had a truly amazing voice, vocal talent, and perfect pitch since Kelly Clarkson. He has amazing control and a fantastic ear. Wow!

that was a great finale show!! Congrats David Cook!

I must say I was very surprised to see George Michael on there considering his past...uh. problems with the law
I love George Michael's music, but I don't know if he was the right choice to be on Idol

I was also very disappointed that David Cook and ZZ Top did not spin their guitars
I was thinknig while they were playing that most of the audience probably did not know who the heck ZZ Top was

Brooke White and Graham Nash's duet was amazing!

I did NOT like the arrangement they did of "Letter" that Carly and Michael were singing, what the heck did they do to that song????

Anyone else notice that Amanda didn't seem like she cared if she was there or not?

I noticed! Bet she was cursing the fact that she had signed a contract (top 12 do)! Castro seemed to redeem himself with one of his better performances this season.

Simon's apologies regarding his "verging on disrespectful" comments last night was a little too late IMO....and voters retaliated!!!

I am glad Cook won! I truly believe he is the more marketable of the two! He's also got the personality to boot! I'm glad he got his "break" in life.

I like that he has more "life experience". I realized what I don't like about David A. There is no substance to his personality. There isn't much there between the "Geezes" and "Goshes". He hasn't experienced life yet....he'll get his own record deal and will have his let downs like everyone else that he can grow from, and be on his own without his father's influence. It will be exciting to see him grow from the boy we seen win Star Search to his OWN person, not someone else's. I wish him the best!

Either way, we haven't seen the last of either of them and they BOTH have a lot to be proud of!

Notice? How could you not notice? Man! What a sourpuss. I'm glad she got booted early, and I see she didn't bother using any of her downtime to learn how to sing, or if not sing, to learn how to enunciate.
She ought to be really pleasant on tour!

She's not on the tour....she wasn't in the top 10. She got booted the week before...
I'm sure AI producers are relieved of that....she could have at least smiled....once!

When I was in grade four, we did a project in school and I said my favourite band was ZZ Top! I also LOVE Graham Nash
! But yeah, Amanda was just like, "whatever" about the whole thing. Maybe it was her time of the month...?
Or maybe she's just mad that she sucked.

Good finale...glad to see I'm not the only one who noticed Amanda seeming not to care (and not to know the words, where she was supposed to be on stage etc etc).

I am very happy for David Cook...it really wasn't a finale where I was going to be disappointed. I still and always will, love David Archuletta and will cheerfully buy *both* their first cds

Anyone else notice that the duet the 2 Davids did was really, really nice? I'd love to see them record something that would work for both of them.
