I really hate asking for help... but.....

I need six videos from YouTube in .wmv or .avi format. I've tried to download and convert them, but they just aren't working. If someone could help me out, please let me know! I'll post the links to the vids once (if?) someone can help.
Thanks guys!!

Do you have Windows or do you have something else?

You probably need a .flv file converter. There are tons of them out there, but be careful, because it isn't particularly encouraged by Youtube. They're in a non-downloadable format on purpose.

If you're using FireFox, it has an add-on that is an excellent downloader.

I had to get videos on YouTube for a speech class.

What I did was this:
  • Imported the file to Windows Movie Maker
  • Clicked 'file', 'save project as'....saved it that way
  • Then went to menu on the left hand side, under 'publish to' clicked 'this computer'
  • Picked a file name, clicked 'next'
  • My videos were VERY large, so I then clicked 'compress to' & used whatever size came up
  • I then uploaded them to YouTube
What specifically is your issue? Where are you getting hung up?

I have the video files and everything... but .mp4 files won't play in Windows Movie Maker and I'm having trouble converting them to .wmv or .avi.

I've got .mov files I can't get to import to WMM. I'm no help there, haven't ever figured out how to get them to import!
