I really don't know. I was pretty sheltered and didn't have many hopes and dreams when I was a child.
I really didn't start to experience and learn about good things in life until I was about 13.

But off hand, I would have to say, a singer... I like to sing and I'm good at it (hey I said good, not great) lol. but I've never really followed up with that past singing chour in school.

when i was wee little i wanted to be a cashier, i'd unhook mom's phone and pretend like the receiver was one of those scanner things, and I'd get stuff around the house with bar codes and "Scan them" then sometimes I'd have to type in the usbn with the keys lol..

Oh yeah, and I also wanted to be an archiologist, a writer, a princess, a lawyer, a priest, a famous tennis player, a psychologist, a mechanic, a tv news anchor, a professional basketball player, a veternarian (sp?), and a fighter pilot. My parents pretty much let me think i could be whatever i wanted, even if it wasn't true (god bless them)..

O yeah, and what I turned out to be is pretty much nothing.. But what I'm aspiring now is the be an advertising guru, a product developer, a market researcher, a small business owner, a financial analyst, or a writer for a business magazine =P We'll see how THESE choices work out..

Movin' on up!
I wanted to be a nurse. Mom was squeamish and I was the one who fixed up my brothers' boo-boos. When Mike broke his thumb, I was the one, who held his other hand, while it was being set. MOM stayed out in the waiting room.

Since I got married, so young, I never made nursing schol. I wound up training as a medical assistant and phlebotomist.

Fighting for ferals in NW NJ!
Tamara, my grandpa was a farmer with sheep. And chickens. I used to spend two weeks at the end of August each summer on his farm. I was the youngest of 13 grandkids, and the only one who LOVED the animals and the farm. I was out with him every day, from when he started at sun-up. I mucked out cages, stalls, helped sheer sheep, collect eggs, screen them, feed and water all the animals, weed the "kitchen" garden (over an acre!), etc.

I wanted to be a farmer's wife. Every once in a while I wanted to be a Vet, but mostly I wanted to be a farmer's wife.

...and I was brought up by very liberal parents, and I was brought up to believe I could be or do anything. But that's what I wanted.

...and I am a financial analyst. LOL!

(Jeanie - now I'm dreaming about that "cat farm!" for unwanted strays and ferals, which we would have spayed and neutered....
Maybe some day I will be a farmer's wife... just not quite the original farm I had in mind.
)

I wanted to be a lawyer. I ended up being an EMT for awhile, and now am a professional body piercer, receptionist, hand holder, and most anything else that needs to be done at the tattoo shop. Except tattooing!
Sharral, being "just a housewife" was the hardest job I ever had. I hope you referring to yourself as that was not putting yourself down. The world was a much better place when there were more housewives.

I wanted to be a hairdresser, cause that's what my grandma was, and I wanted to be an aerobics instructor, cause that's what mom was. I also wanted to be a children's nurse cause I wanted to work with kids, but then I realized that those kids would be really sick and I don't think I could handle that. So I decided I wanted to be a grade school teacher but the qualifications were way out of my league (grade 12 Chemistry AND Physics???). Then, lost, I was volunteering with a retirement home through high school and somebody told me I could do that for a living, so I went with it, whoa was I surprised what was involved, wiping bums???!!! jeesh, but I stayed with it.

Hmm...

I wanted to be "the girl that sells the goldfish at the Petstore". When I was about 3 or 4, we went to buy goldfish and I just thought she had the coolest job, getting to catch the fishies and tell the owners which "cages" they'd like best.

Then I wanted to be "the girl that feeds the monkeys" after my first trip to the zoo.

Then I wanted to be a ventriliquist, but I quickly realized I didn't have that talent.
I just thought the puppets were cool.

And now I want to be a nurse.

I really wanted to be a veterinarian. Well, that stopped when I worked at one for 3 years. In college, I had no idea what I wanted to do. In grad school, I wanted to be a forensic scientist. Now, I'm doing what really makes me happy-doing research in a hospital setting. It's wonderful to feel that what I do may make a big difference in someone's life down the road...
