Loss of "Kona"

My brother and his wife have lost their beloved "Kona" on friday night. Kona was diagnosed just a few weeks ago with a lung cancer that had spread into her paws. They had taken Kona in for a chemo treatment last week and it seemed Kona responded rather well to treatment. Friday when my brother got home from work poor dear Kona was bleeding profusely from her mouth. They took her to the emergency after hours vet and did the most humane thing possible....Kona crossed the bridge. They had just lost their other cat "Ginger" 6 months ago. They had these cats for 12 years. These cats were their children and their life...the are devastated beyond words. Does anyone know of a good site where I can find good sympathy cards on the loss of a beloved pet?

I'm so sorry for your brother and sister-in-law's loss. How terrible for them to have suffered heartbreak twice in such a short time. Kona and Ginger were very lucky to have been so loved.

I don't know any good websites for pet-loss sympathy cards. I would recommend though, that your brother and his wife take a look at the "stickys" at the top of the list of threads in this forum. There is good information in "Links of Love - for those in mourning" posted by hissy that may help them through their grief.

Condolences to your family on losing Kona and Ginger. If it is any comfort, I just learned that a dear, dear friend, only 35yo, passed away on Friday - less than a week from when her family found out that her backaches & headaches were terminal, cancerous tumors. She had to leave a 9yo daughter behind. but I know that all our RB kitties over there will help fill her empty arms...Godspeed, Kona, and please give Michelle plenty of headbutts & purrs - her cats were her other kids
