I love this about getting a new cat - seeing their personality slowly unfold.
Lily does this thing where she sits back on her hind legs and puts her little paws up - JUST like a meerkat does! It's so cute!

Memphis jumps on the table and actually hugs me - puts his arms around my neck! - when he wants attention. He's a little more outgoing.

Does anyone else's cat do this, or have any similar cute behavior?

Mine don't do that but the little girl picked up a cute habit.

Both cats sleep next to me on the couch while I'm watching TV or working on my laptop. Their blanket is a permanent fixture on the last cushion. While they are sleeping the little girl wakes up at some point, starts purring VERY loudly, stands up and bumps into me so i'll pick her up and per her on my chest to sleep. She does this without opening her eyes once. Isn't that strange? she just purrs really loudly stands up and bump right into my side. She knows I'll pick her up.
Then when i lay her on my chest she immediately starts falling off to sleep and the purrs fade out about 20 seconds later. It's the greatest

Yeah they're both really latched on to me. lol. The boy is more independant. He doesn't like being petted. Unless he's on my chest sucking his paws. Which he does every time he goes to sleep. He could do it without me. But he relaxes his paws and that causes him to push them around when he's trying to latch on. haha. So i pick him up and have to hold his paw to provide resistence so he can really nuzzle in. it's so funny. until he gets his whole foot wet there are these funny squeaky noises. haha

I recorded a close up video of it, but it's in HD so I can't edit it with any apps I have right now. I'm building a new PC this weekend so I'll be able to edit it and upload Monday.

I like to say that Zane is a meercat. All the time he goes "meer!" "meer!" "meer!" (I swear he must have Siamese blood, although he doesn't look it.)
