I've been using a crystal deodorant for a while now and wouldn't use anything else.

When in junior high, I developed a very bad perspiration problem. I've been using Dry Idea since 8th grade. And that's over 30 years. My skin is very sensitive, and it doesn't bother my skin, and I don't have any perspiration problems. I feel kinda stuck in a rut, but I figure if it ain't broke...

I just use Rexona and Nivea roll ons. The nivea ones are really good for sensitive skin.

I use Secret Clinical Strength, and used to use Certain Dri by the advice of some users on here. It works well, but burns a little.

Here's another one! I have to use certain dri too since I sweat like a boy at prom, (well, I do when I don't use it at least).

But that's only one night a week or so. Daily I use Dove ultimate clear for sensitive skin-- it works, and doesn't smell like anything. I think it has almond oil in it or something cause it smells barely sweet, but not like perfumey.

I use men's deodorant... not too happy about the aluminum and ingredients I can't pronounce, but can't find anything natural that works.

Just for my 2 cents:
I am also larger and have the sweating problem. My body chemistry changes every year or two and I have to switch deodourants. I've used almost everything.
I also recommend Dove. I can't use it anymore, but if my body hadn't changed, I would still be using it. I like the powder smell, but sensitive skin might indeed be most appropriate for you.
I currently am using Ban in a tropical sent. I like it quite a bit actually! it does about the same job with the sweat stains as any other deodourant, but the smell seems to hold up well.
If you sweat a lot I wouldn't recommend those crystals. I've tried them so many times and they just can't stand up to my sweatiness. Also, I found that some of those dial "click" soft solid, gel, and roll on ones have terribly stained my clothes (the worst being the soft solid from secret, a whole summers wardrobe done in one month).
Hope you like the Dove!

I have been one of the few, but allergic to dove products! I use to use Secret as well, until it wasn't doing the job................... Back when I didn't even need deodorant and smelt like roses! Suddenly I lost that magic, went from Secret to Mitchum, then even that stopped working! Now I use Lady Speed Stick, successfully!

How many of you have not had success with the crystal deoderants? I am surprised that not more of you are interested in trying it at least.

I had absolutely no success with the crystal or other "all natural" deodorants....

I've tried Certain Dri (Aluminum Chloride 12%), as well as Maxim (Aluminum Chloride 15%), both of which used to be prescription strength antiperspirants, prescribed for hyperhydrosis. They work great!!! Completely eliminates underarm wetness. Unfortunately, after using it for a week or so, I ended up with chemical burns under my arms...not a pleasant situation!

Secret Clinical Strength is Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (20%), Mitchum for Women is also Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (20%) I don't understand paying nearly double for the Secret Clinical Strength. Arrid XX solid is Aluminum Zirconium Tetrachlorohydrex Gly (19%) and comes in an unscented version, which seems to be my biggest issue. I can get Arrid XX on sale at Walmart for $2.16 for 3.2 oz, and I can usually find manufacturer's coupons to bring the price down even more (right now I have $1 off on two.) I have some Mitchum in the closet...I paid $3.29 for 1.7 oz. I really don't think there's enough difference between 20% and 19%, to make me want to spend close to $8 for Secret Clinical Strength!
I've honestly spent hours at drugstores and online, researching active ingredients of deoderants (can you tell I'm paranoid??!!??), trying to find the best product, at the best price.

Right now I'm using Secret "Kuku for Cocoa Butter." Dove stopped working for me.
I think I'm going to try the clear gel Secret next time I buy, based on recommendations.

I didn't have success with them. I ended up smelling like B.O.
And when I tried other natural deodorants I had a really bad allergic reaction. My armpits turned bright red and itched like mad.

I am thumbs down for Dove, it makes me itchy and sweat even more, and the worst part it that it really stains all of my clothes.

i currently use Nivea Pearl, its the new one out on the market and its wonderful, doesnt make me sweat and it smells wonderful.

Another method i got to use and it just came out of the blue was a few weeks ago while i was in Italy, i forgot to bring my underarm deodarant and I thought its going to be a really stinky day untill....

I saw the nivea tub cream and baking soda.
Rub enough cream under the arm pits, and then rub in the baking soda, wait a minute before putting clothes on. Nothing stained my shirt, and i did not perspire the whole day! I really reccomend it!

I do love using the crystal, but..... you cannot forget to put it on because there is no build up, so a missed application and phewwey!! That is why I have one at work too.

I just stared using Certain Dri it works awesome and it's half the price of Secret Clinical. I tend to perspire under my arms alot and now I have no more underarm sweating.
In the pass I never used roll on deodorant's because they made me break out in rashes but I've had no problems with this product. Would highly recommend it for people wanting to completely eliminate underarm wetness.

I've known a lot of people who use them and... well... they all smelled like they didn't use deodorant at all. And they all thought it was working.

I was just going to recommend Nivea Dry Care. That's one of the few antiperspirants I haven't had issues with. It doesn't contain alcohol, and is hypoallergenic.

I use Tom's of Maine. For the longest time I used the popular name brand ones until I read up on things like antiperspirant and aluminum! Do you guys realize how bad they are? Clogging your pores is bad enough, but doing it with aluminum? No way, I use the natural ones, deoderant only, NO antiperspirant.
