This is a message I just got From one of my Cat/Chausie rescue friends.

Hi Mike,
I'm not sure what we can do....but it is not a good situation...over crowding, sick cats...elderly mother...exotics registered as domestics because he doesn't have a license to keep them and he just killed one of his F1's .... I guess out of anger because she bit him.

He posted to the list one day her picture with a note ....highest bid takes her...the next day he posted she was dead....5 people offered to take her and he, for what ever reason, decided to kill her rather than try to re-home her.

I don't know what the laws are where he lives....if there is a number he can have...I know he doesn't have the permits for the exotics and has hung paper on them saying they are hybrids...I don't want to see the cats confiscated and destroyed but this man does not deserve to own animals.

My thing is this guy was the same cat I got Kirby from. A tough one to love but he is fine with me and has no problems, but this so called breeder has now killed one of his cats for bitting him and now I pretty much want this guy myself. Bobbie and I need some help here. I'm going to try to get an address and pay this person a visit ASAP. But I may need help in getting the remaining cats from him and placing them in good loving homes. . Anyone who want's to help, please let me know or Bobbie at the Chausie group..Sign up in the chausie group and put your post in.

My e-mail address is [email protected]

Mike, I would report this problem to the proper authorities. It's best not to take action on your own. Of course, you can certainly let the breeder know you don't approve of his behavior, but please don't do anything that will cause legal problems for you.

mike you have to report this. Your a smart guy, you can find out to who. If they dont get them this time, they can build a case against this person with your bit of help. You dont just kill an animal when it becomes inconvenient! I dont know an F1 from a chausie but i know enough that they are special cats with blood lines that go back to the wild , and thusly have special needs. Im not telling you anything you dont allready know. Get that sucker!

Hi Mike-

If you want to either email me or PM me, I found some Chausie breeder links last night that are not overseas that might know someone to help.
