WOW!
That thing was HUGE!

After cutting it open and squeezing it (with my bare hands mind you) I got over a cup of juice out of it!

After adding water and sugar (LOTS OF SUGAR) it made 2 HUGE glasses of lemonaide!

Here are some pics.......

Mind you, that's a 7 inch knife!

My hand showing how big it is cut open

Would you like a slice of lemon in your tea?

How much juice I got out of it!

Notice like a quarter of the juice squirted out on the counter

This thing was a monster!

You know, I think I heard something about that species of lemon on "The Splendid Table." I think it might be a "Ponderosa Lemon," which is believed to be a lemon/citron cross.

I think you're right -- I was trying to remember the name of a giant lemon I saw Martha Stewart using one day. It's hard to imagine how a 5.5-foot tree holds up such a thing!

That's exactly what it is! I called my dad a few mins ago and asked him.
It's a Ponderosa

my mom has one of these trees at her place. It's funny cuz it's such a scrawny tree and the fruit is massive.

Our lemons are still better at my place though, we have a meyer lemon tree here

I was gonna question too about the lemon - looked more like a grapefruit!

Maybe you should check into the Guinnes Book of Records for the largest lemon and see if your lemons beat it!

You know if you put a bunch of lemons in a bowl and leave them on your kitchen counter, it's supposed to bring money into your home. We did it and oh boy, my husband's phone started ringing off the hook for estimates (he's a faux artist). One of the designers he does work for bought him lemons from Costco and told him to do this, so we were like, what the hell, let's do it. It worked!
I did this, and I only get cat tooth marks on them...
