Are points becoming worthless?

We've all been there where we only had a few points to begin with. The whole point of points (if you will)

is that you have to earn them by posting. It encourages board activity. So it would hardly be worth it to start redistributing everyones points and spreading the wealth. You'd be rewarding people for not posting or being as active and taking away from those who work hard to be an active member of our little community. After awhile your points will start adding up. It's fun to spend them at first. Then it levels off a bit after awhile. I still enjoy collecting them though. And some day they will come in handy!

Call it purr laziness, but I know I don't give out gifts often because I'll see the person's post, go into vbplaza, forget the person's username, go back to the post, copy the username, go into vbplaza again, then paste the username into there...then realize I forgot what I was doing.

In short, for the "forgetful" such as myself, could we have an option when we click on the username to "send a gift to <<username>>" and have it fill in the username for us?

I don't know why, but it sometimes hit me like...."OMG, so and so has this
many points, and that many post! aaaaa.....I better get busy!" I couldn't keep
up! and I guess that was so obvious to me whenever all the newbies that
joined in and around November last year have by-passed me by thousands!
I give! that was crazy thinking! heck I spend more time PMing
people and not out in the forums!(my fault again) I refuse getting parnoid
about points!!! I have always been a giver, I love that! If I were a rich
person in everyday life, I probably wouldn't stay that way for long! I would
share it and bring as much joy to people who wouldn't have it otherwise!
Just like the rich in anything, points and money, the more you have the more
selfish I believe folks become! not everyone, certainly not anyone here!!

whenever I checked on the other things you could buy with points,
such as fonts, etc. They are pretty pricey, especially for someone with only
12.000 points! That is for the rich and famous!

I am happy, with what I have, heck it took long enough for me to get where I am!

I have dial up and it is so slow, that said, I just don't spend enough time, answering each question, I kinda got overwhelmed at the lounge, whenever it got so loaded with questions , I couldn't think of a topic cause it seemed someone else had already asked it! I think it was great, but I bowed out for awhile! the bottom line is that it's ok, I have made some great friends on here! I am totally blessed by that!!!!
Big ticket items??? after you buy them, what would be next?
have fun! give, give, give!!! that is what is all about........and that is here and in real life!!!

I would love to be able to get something bigger. At one point i wanted to get the coloured custom name, bigger avatar, and then they changed it so that only premium members could do it, i was really disappointed. I now have over 100k points, i'm waiting for something great to pop up for regular members, or i'll just dump my points on someone.

I don't know how many times I've gone to give someone a gift, then I forget something about the TCS member's username -- like, for instance, if it has any upper-case letters, or maybe any numbers. If you don't enter the member's username exactly, it won't work, and you have to go back to find out exactly how to enter it....

Good idea!

Thats a great point... I don't know why they tool those option for non-paying members since premium members already get bigger avatars and a few other perks (including a discount on items as well).

I also LOVE the idea of adding "send gift" to the username drop down. It would make gifting/donating much easier.

Hey, I've thought of this myself too! You can click on someone's name and view their profile, or send them a PM, why not an option to send them a gift?

if possible, that sounds like a winner!
i usually click on the name, open their profile, highlight their name, copy that, then go to the shop. that way, i can just paste the name in the spot w/o having to remember exact stuff - like symbols, numbers, etc.

The mods saw my post previously and passed a PM along to me saying that this isn't possible

If I remember right, the site software doesn't allow them to do this.

Maybe someday [soon] this will be an option!!

I am really so tired of this points discussion. Points to me are fun. They are a way for me to connect to other TCS members for whom I want to wish the best luck or for whom I want to send
There are so many other things going on with us and our wonderful kids (furry and human), I guess I say: " If it ain't broke, why fix it?"
Can we just drop the points issue for now? Please.
