So what sex is the 3rd one?

I find it a lot easier to show males vs females - doesn't matter if the girls are spayed or not. I've had a lot more success with the boys

This is where being a shorthair breeder is harder. You cannot help noticing weight loss on a shorthair cat! Long hair cats can "hide" weight loss under a mass of coat.
It can be a nightmare showing queens here under GCCF, and as a result very few breeding females get beyond Champion regardless of how good quality they are - there's no points system for gaining titles, it's awarded by a series of certificates, usually 1 per show (although certificate can be withheld) and each has to be awarded by a different judge, so the "one show grand" I hear mentioned at TCS is impossible. It can take 2 or 3 seasons for a queen to grand, cramming in shows (at a maximum of 1 every 2 weeks, according to the rules) when she's in peak condition between litters. I don't know how anyone manages it, and it's not unusual in the UK to see pedigrees where only the males have won titles.

One of the main reasons I pushed Bulan so hard was exactly that...she granded at 9.5 months old. She'd already had her first heat by then, so I needed her granded and fast. Her last show was the big KL November '07 8 rings where she only managed 6 finals. She was mated exactly 4 days after that!

Still 2 girls and a boy!

Entire males, especially those that spray are very hard to show! One of the current top ranking Somali in CFA (breed) is a sprayer and I don't envy the breeder/agent at all! Having gone through that with Stevie, I sincerely hope my new male wont be like that!

As of today, 12.30pm (Malaysia Time) Feb 07, 2008:

Dark - 160 grams
Darker - 157 grams
Darkest - 160 grams....

A twenty gram increase in one day!

The healthiest litter I've ever had so far, obviously Ms. Bulan is an excellent mommy!

What is causing this weight gain, I have a secret (well, not so secret) formula that I feed my queens besides high quality kitten kibbles. It consists of chicken stock, raw chicken, goats milk, mayonnaise, yogurt, royal jelly and another ingredient which I don't know if available in the non-tropical countries!

The queens get fed this "chicken soup" daily (about 50 grams) from the time of inception. The last ingredient is omitted while pregnant until about a week to delivery and for at least 2 weeks after delivery.

Yes, I DO cook for my cats!

Oh they are adorable
Look forward to hearing about their progress (and seeing lots of pics of course!). Nothing cuter than baby Abys (except perhaps baby Somalis
)

Dark - 177 grams
Darker - 179 grams
Darkest - 178 grams....

Still swimming around (doing the breaststroke really
) in blindness though I can see that Darker's eyes are beginning to open. We should have open eyes in the next few days I think. They'll go from swimming to running in a couple of weeks if previous litters are anything to go by!

Stay tuned for week old pics in a couple of days!

Well, the fat babies are now one week old
Easiest way to take pics of Abys is when they're asleep...even the week old ones!

I think you can figure out which ones are Dark, Darker and Darkest!

The one that appears to be in a coma is Dark, middle is Darker and on the right is Darkest

And a nice pic of Darkest's wonderful color!

As you can see (I hope) eyes are opening up!
