I can't believe my good luck. I was informed by email that I just won $1,000,000,000.00 in the Shell National Lottery. I'm going to retire tomorrow.

lol...nice try. These people must think I'm stupid, I wasn't born yesterday.

I get a couple of these scam emails every week. They are either from a "lottery" or from a dead "relative" that left millions. I can't believe that there are still people who may be naive enough to fall for these.

It makes me feel bad for elderly people that may fall for it..

I had a scam phone call the other day..

It rang, I picked it up and a recording just said "invalid selection, please press 1 to get a better interest rate"

That was it!! I was like...ummm, really? "CLICK".
Who would fall for that!?

Those people are so stupid!

I`ve only had one but a quick google of all the names and addresses they mentioned brought up a forum where other people said it was a con, so I sent a rather rude e-mail back!

I get a lot of that stuff in my junk mail folder in my email - it makes me laugh when I read the titles on most of them

They couldn't care less who they ticked off. They just want live email addresses/suckers. When you respond, you validate your email address for the spammer/scammer. Best to just delete it.

I got one of my favorites last week:

"Dear Friend,

I got your email address on the internet, I want you to assist me by
getting a nice property for purchase within your location as me and my
family wants to relocate to a safe environment as soon as possible due
to
the civil war in my country. Your urgent response is highly
appreciated.

Johnson Ato"

ORLY? I won the South African lottery the day before; I must have really hit the spam jackpot.

yeh, i hate these sort of emails. what's more annoying is, getting them when you don't even sign up to them in the first place!

My parents dont sign up to sites, so their email is just used to family. (they arent very computer literate)

Yesterday they also got some lottery winning type of thing through email, my mother wrote to me on msn WE WON THE LOTTERY!!! IT SAID THE COMPUTER!!! WAIT TILL NEXT WEEK WHEN YOU COME HERE I SHOW YOU!

My heart just broke to delude her it was spam

I hardly ever get spam even though my address can be found on several sites. A pity really, some of the ones my friends get are extremely funny.

How lucky is that! A Billion dollars - the most I've ever been informed I've won is a million. Don't forget your TCS friends.

Nuh uh...might give me away!
I think the only scam that really upset me was the one I received the week after my grandfather passed away. In it, it claimed a long-lost relative of mine named Robert Cloud from Nigeria had passed away and that they couldn't find anyone else to take the money. Typical scam, right?

It wouldn't have been so bad if my grandfather's name wasn't Robert Cloud!

It was the worst time to try that scam with me, and the name really jolted me.

Aw, I'm sorry! That would be really upsetting even though you know its just a scam.
