Condolences on your loss of Billy. He was so beautiful - looks very much like a feral kitten named Bob that is living with me. Maybe writing down some of his cat antics, or a poem about how you are feeling will help you in your healing process. When I lost my Miss Tobie, I plinked out a simple tune on the piano and made a song that I sang over & over. Please let us know how you are doing! Try to remember that this too shall pass and Krazy Kat 2 is right about lots of other kitties in need. I've lost many loved ones in my past, cat, horse, human and when I lost Miss Tobie, I thought that I was too scared to ever love again, and after losing custody of my grandson to his abusive father, I was too tired, too weak; but my brain-damaged daughter bought me two kittens, Joey & JC, and well, the rest is history......susan

I'm so sorry
What a handsome little boy he is as well, but know that nothing and no one will ever take away the happy memories that you have of Billy.

Thanks everyone! Just want to give everyone an update on how i am dealing with my loss. It has been difficult 4 days for me and my family. the first two days were the worst....i couldnt sleep at all. I just miss him so much! I am starting to realize that I made the right decision by letting Billy go. He is better off and out of pain. Ihave been going to his little grave everyday and talking to him.

Overall, i think i am seeing improvement on myself....i have been able to face the fact. I have been thinking positively these last few days. When i took billy in he was a baby kitten who was hit by a car at a relatively young age. I rushed him to the vet and his jaw was reconstruced.....his teeth were bad from day 1. I am trying to thing along the lines that he was sent into my life to give me 8,5 wonderful years and a lifetime of memories. I did alli could for him and I know he understands that.

I took some of the adivce given to me by other members on this forum and it has helped me. I have been writing down how I feel for the past 3 days and then I have reviewed it to find out that I went from feeling very guilty to understanding that what I did was the best option. I have had cats all my life but Billy was the first one to go the way he did and it is an experience that I will never forget and that i hope I never have to face again. it was just tooooooo sudden!!!
Again, thanks all for the wonderful and kind words.

Thank you for the update, Dina! Your words will be read from those poor souls who are just "visiting" this website, and will be both comforting and encouraging to them. My heart goes out to all of you who are in mourning

Hi Dina !
Pain does get more tolerable after the first days, It's been a week for me today and I see an improvement in my mood, still the thoughts come back and sleeping is not yet tranquile, but things are getting better. I have other cats so i have others to love and to care for.

Your Billy was a great guy and very loved and cared.

Have a nice weekend !
