Since so many of us seem to be planning on celebrating at home, I think we should have an online New Year's Eve party right here. I'm GMT +1:00, and can start it, but anybody ahead of me in time zones would be more appropriate. Any volunteers?

We were planning on spending a quiet evening at home as usual but our plans changed in an instant this afternoon.

I won tickets to BIG NEW YEAR'S BASH at the Crystal Palace! CSI: NY's Gary Sinise & the Lt. Dan Band, Monty Byrom, and Buddy Owens & the Buckaroos are going to be playing.

Buddy Owens is the son of the late Buck Owens. And the Crystal Palace is one of Country Music's best nightclubs outside of Nashville. The Crystal Palace is the place that Garth Brooks proposed to Trisha Yearwood in May 2005.

The tickets do not include the dinner but at least I am going to a party!!!
I haven't been to a New Year's Eve party since Dec 31, 1999 for the Millenium. I won't drink since I am going to be the driver, but I will have a glass of wine when I get home..

I already know what I am going to wear too..
We are a tad excited.. lol

I'll be at my birthday bash. But I'll try and sneak on before anyone comes over!
Can't guarantee it'll be late a night, Soberity is not one of my requirements that night, it's at our house!!!

As far as I know, Rob and I will just be having a nice quiet night at home together. We'll watch the ball drop and kiss each other for the new year (especially since 2008 is looking to be a wonderful year - wedding, house being built...)

But who knows, he might have some sort of plan he doesn't intend on telling me about until 5 minutes beforehand, like going to the neighbor's house or something like that....

Ok I just found out the price of the tickets I won off the radio... They are $108-$138 per ticket!!!
And this is without the dinner!! The one's with the dinner start at $178 and goes up to over $200! Per ticket!! So since the station probably gave away the cheapest seats, they are probably worth $216!!

What is everyone doing for New Years? We have a HUGE party with 75+ people. We throw it for high school age students so there is no alcohol and it is in a safe environment! We have a buffet of food and deserts and a dance floor and DH is the DJ! It is so so so much fun! I will post pics when we get them! What does everyone else do on new years???

Thats awesome!!
I wish they would plan something around here for kids to do.

As for us, we are going to my sisters for snacks and playing games
I *used* to do the bar thing on new years eve, but....decided not to this year.

NoRachelHere, your party sounds great!! What a wonderful idea.

We're on vacation now, but we haven't really figured out what we're doing New Year's Eve. We're going to drive up to northern Arizona to visit friends on New Year's Day, so it probably won't be anything too wild.

Wow, that's going to be some party! How did you win the tickets?
I'm not sure what we're doing yet, we may have some friends over.
In case I can't come on tomorrow night - HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone and your kitties too!

I had to call the station when they said and had to be the 10th caller. I and the hubby are looking forward to it. We haven't been able to afford to go anywhere nice for a long time. I am going to try and get pics of me and Gary Sinise. (CSI:NY) who is going to be there with the Lt. Dan Band. I am not going to drink though since I am going to be the driver. I will have a glass of wine when I get home

I'm going to clean my fish tanks and then relax. I really don't feel like going out or anything. Boring, huh?

Same thing I always do....stay home. Too many people out there drinking and driving. We were invited to go see our friends band play but I think we are going to just stay in tonight.
