So, Kit was 5.75lbs. when he was neutered on the 6th. At that point, he was exactly 4 months old. To me, that seems huge! Any ideas how big he's likely to get? Is that normal for a 4 month old male? Just curious! He's healthy as can be

A bit on the heavier side for his age, but it probably will even out - just keep an eye on him as he gets older. Rule of thumb for an average cat is about 1 to 1 1/2 lbs per month of age till around 8-10 months old - then they level out and grow slower.

Charlie was pretty much on track - about 4-5 lbs at 4 months of age. He stayed at about 10 lbs from 9 months old till 14 months old. He now is closer to 11 lbs. When fully developed (at 2 yrs old) he should be about 12 lbs.

Gosh.. Snow is only 3.10 pounds at 6 months (although she's been sick on and off) ... do you guys think she'll average out eventually?? She does have a small frame though...

Audrey is okay 5.60 pounds at 6 months

One of my girls is 6 months old and is 3.14 pounds. Her sister just hit 4 pounds a few days ago. They're both just very petite.

hmm... yeah she's definitely petite.. how many pounds do you think your two will get when they're full grown.. I mean, what's the average weight for a petite full grown (1yr-2yr) cat?

A petite/small cat would average 4-6 lbs when grown.

A medium cat would average 7/8 - 12 lbs (smaller end for females, larger end for males)

A large cat would be anything over 13 lbs when grown

I just weighed Oreo and she is 4.2 Pounds at 4 Months. She has Fcks and is the runt of the Litter. When I got her last Months she was half teh size of the other Kittens. She is bigger then Sasha was at 4 Months.

I was trying to see/feel Snow's ribs etc.. like the weight chart said to do.. the vet I think said she's a little underweight...

But the weight approximations are really helpful.. I always wondered about that. Just wondering too.. is it possible for a petite cat to be fat.. or are they usually almost always on the skinny side??

YES a petite cat can get fat since usually petite is in relation to being small in bone and size I would think it would be easier since there would be less room to put extra wt ..

Example my Zoey is petite in bone structure yet ave to big ave in length ... she is a skinny 8 lbs and the vet said could go up to 10 so far 9.25 is the highest she has been
