The Tales of Beedle the Bard

If you don't know about this, this is the book that is mentioned in the last Harry Potter book. After finishing the series J.K. Rowling wrote an actual "Tales of Beedle the Bard" book, and handwrote and illustrated 7 copies and gave six of them to friends and family.

Recently, Amazon.com bought the one copy put up for auction with the money being donated to a children's charity. I've been looking at pictures of it on their site. It's very cool. http://www.amazon.com/gp/feature.htm...pf_rd_i=507846

But, any Harry Potter fans out there feel a little annoyed that it's not being mass-produced? As of right now, I have heard no plans for it to be. I certainly don't need one that's handwritten and hand-illustrated. I don't need one with a fancy cover and binding (like in the pictures). I would be fine with a copy like her other two Harry Potter related books done for charity (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them and Quidditch Through the Ages).

I hope that it eventually is mass-produced for the public, because it annoys me so much that there's a Harry Potter book I can't read.

I'm not upset in the least. She did that purely to raise money for a charity, and the book did very well.

I'd bet we really aren't missing much by it not being mass produced.

While it's true she did it purely to raise money for charity (by the way, it did much better than it was expected to), the other books I mentioned were done purely for charity as well (for the UK charity Comic Relief).

I think it's great that it was done for charity and not mass produced - Ms Rowling certainly does not have any obligation to anyone!

ETA: Isn't the book gorgeous??? The pages, the drawings, the cover, the lock.... Oh to have a spare few million pounds!
