Hi, my name is Eric, Im a 26 year old male who live with his girlfriend and new male kitty named Mowgli.
Mowgli was born in late June and he is a Bengal.
He is my first cat and I love him.
He has proven to be quite the money sink though, with runny stools and juvenile cataracts. His vet visits have cost me more than I was expecting to spend on a pet.
We took care of his cataracts about 1 1/2 months ago, and we still have to give him eyedrops everyday. We used to have to give them to him every hour =(.
He used to love sitting on my lap and being held by me, but that all changed when I started giving him eyedrops every hour, now he prefers to run away from me if I try to pet him =(.
The cataract surgery was a couple thousand bucks, and the breeder offered to trade him for a new kitten, but by the time we found out he had cataracts(a month after we got him), that was no longer an option for us. We were already in love. (the breeder no longer breeds his mother as she had a couple complaints about kittens from this litter, she has also offered us another bengal from a new litter at no charge after she saw that we werent tring to rip her off, which I think we will take. I just hope Mowgli is ok with a new kitten. He is very social and loves to play with others).
Im very happy that we decided to keep this cat, and go through with the surgery, I bet if we had returned him to the breeder he would have probably be blind now, no way would she have put him through the surgery herself.
I myself also recently joined http://petoftheday.com/talk/ which is another great message board for talking about pets.
I might like this one better, just because it is cat orientated, and thats what Im looking for.
Hmmm, my mother owns a Shetland Sheepdog, which I also consider my pet because I grew up with this dog. She is the sweetest dog Ive ever known, she is about 14 years old now.
I was born and raised in San Diego, and I have just recently moved back here less than a year ago. I think Im here to stay now =D
Ill post a few pics in order from his youngest age to oldest now. Which is only a few months.
This next image is him and his littermate(sister) playing, he is the one biting her!
Here he is after Eye surgery and being Neutered. Yes, they did his eyes and balls at same time >OUCH<
