I love my job, about 50% is documenting our activity in the computer program, not a problem because up until a month ago we had great clerical support.

PROBLEM
Our wonderful clerical support got replaced by a nasty, passive aggressive, nut case. She will not correct a simple spelling error, just types it as is, she refuses to do some things, for one reason or another. She will hold things for ten days, and then return it for a correction, thus holding up the work for weeks.
SOOO, you would think management, who is always screaming to get the work done, would be upset by this.
No, it appears I am the only one upset, and the more I complain about it, the less respect and regard I get.
Several coworkers will not give the nut anything to do, and are doing it all themselves, and we are all getting behind because of her. But they won't go into see the big boss with me. The one in charge of NUT is stubborn and will never admit she is wrong, thus we all have to deal with this crap. The big boss won't overule her for protocol reasons. I imagine the s*** will hit the fan eventually but.............................................
HELP, I CAN'T TAKE IT, I JUST WANT TO GET MY WORK DONE, WON'T ANYONE LISTEN TO ME???????

I am so frustrated, I want to cry. I have to get a grip, but this is driving me crazy. I can't cope. Need some objectivity and advice.

Stop what you are doing and breathe a little (mabye a lot)

I get frustrated at my job also sometimes, but I have learned that If I stop complaining and just document things then send an email copied to everybody important, then things work better. It isn't worth the pay to get all stressed and put out about things. Just do what you can and be confident that things will get better

Breathe....it is good for you

Ah, yes, I know this type of person. She wants people to do it themselves so she doesn't have to do any work.

If I were you, I would continue giving her the work she's supposed to do, and I would document the date and time of everything: when you give it to her and when she gives it back. I'd document the type of work, the length, and what she did well and not so well.

Keep a log and you'll have solid proof of what she's doing. Good luck!

Excellent advice. I would encourage the others who give her work (and those you know are unhappy with the quality/turnaround time) to do the same. If you all document the information, someone has to listen when the proof is presented. If they don't, then ask if you can switch jobs with her so you won't have to do any work and be stressed either.
