I've never had one before so I'm not sure if this is one or not..

But 2 days ago I was at the cat rescue, picking up some toys off the floor to be washed.. and I went to stand up and hit my head on one of the heavy boards on the walls that the cats climb on. I hit it hard enough to lift the board off the L bracket a little bit. And it hurt a lot.

I shrugged it off a few minutes later.. but it throbbed for the rest of the day. But it wasn't until the next day that I had an almost constant headache, a little bit lightheaded, very tired but I can't sleep.
Now today I have all those symptoms and well as my eyes are a bit sensitive to strong lights and I got a fair sized goose egg on my head.

Could it be a minor concussion? I never lost consciousness.. it just really hurt.

I've smacked my head pretty hard several times but haven't had those symptoms.
I would probably get checked out by a doctor.

Yes, sounds like a concussion.

Here is a link to give you some more information. Click the links at the bottom of the information for more:

Not really much they can do for a concussion except to allow time to heal.

Take Tylenol or Ibuprophen for the headaches. Avoid Aspirin as it has blood thinning qualities and can increase the risk of bleeding.

Chances are you are just suffering from a really bad bump on the head, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to go and have a doctor look at it especially if it's affecting your vision.

Maybe you should go see the doctor to make sure you didn't rattle anything too seriously up there.

If you're concerned enough to make a post about it then make a doctor's appointment or at least call and see if they think you should come in.

In the meantime, you really do need to try to rest. If you can get some sleep it will help give your brain time to heal any damage that might have been caused.
How is your memory? Any gaps or is it a little hard to think?

I had a pretty bad fall last April, I actually bounced my head off the concrete a couple of times. I don't suggest people do that, it really really hurts.
Luckily I never lost consciousness, but I did have problems the next couple of days. I felt fuzzy when I'd try to think. I slept it off and was much better after two days.
