By day I am a receptionist (Ceridian)
at night I am doing one of my two other jobs.. I work for Noize Pollution as a Rep, and also for MixAddict as a Rep. (Promoter)

I am also the mother of a bunny, a guinea pig, a prairie dog, an iguana, a tortoise, and a fish!

Once I hit 25 (the magical # to get financial aid) I will go back to school, maybe, I've already been out 6 years..I don't know if I can handle it..

One day I hope to be some kind of brilliant biologist, but I can't do the whole disecting thing, so maybe I won't...

I have a molecular biology & genetics BS. I've graduated 3 years ago, & never worked anywhere For the last 2 years we have been living in USA ; I don't have the visa so I can't work here ( Although my husband can; he's an electrical engineer & is trying to take his Ph D at the same time ). Well I took some courses such as Spanish, Evolutionary Psychology, Neuropsychology etc. from schools. Other than that life here was pretty boring & dull . If everything goes OK, I will start making Ph D in Psychology this semester. Well, I can't work for at least 2 more years, so what can be better than making Ph D ..

I am a stay at home mom of two children. My day revolves around laundry, cooking, cleaning, and entertaining the little ones. But I love it!! Prior to me staying home though, my "official training" is in the banking field, specializing in loans.

Well right now I am at home. I paint and have sold some of my work. I was a Health Care Aide working in nursing homes, and hospital doing private care with the elderly and handicapped. After many years of that I burned out and worked as a cook in a day care for three years. Had to quit because of illness.

Now a couple of years of retirement I am now thinking of taking an upgrading program as I think I would like to go back to caring for the elderly again.

geez. compared to you all, I am pretty lame! I work as an asst mgr of a restaurant. lately after work I am the painter/fixer-upper for our rental property and boy does it need it!
then after/during all that, I am mom to 4 cats, and 8 tanks of fish, both freshwater and (recently) saltwater. I breed Mollies and sell them when they get big enough.
when that's done, I am housekeeper and laundry doer!

Hi everyone! I'm a retired banker. My doesn't that sound grand. Actually I worked in bookkeeping. Answered phone, mailed out statements, and while we still gave back checks, I filed those. Was glad when we went to bulk filing. The computer handled that. The part I hated was answering the phone.

Now I just sit at home and collect my SS checks. My hubby collects his also but he still works. Gluton for punishment!!!

I work for one of the Wal*Mart Distribution Centers and I hate my job. I'm an orderfiller, and I have to lift heavy boxes in a very hot warehouse, and I'm on production. I want to go back to school, but there is a few problems. Number one, I'm getting married and I own a house, so I can't go back full time b/c I don't have the money. Number two, I have no idea what I want to do, so it would be a waste of time and money to go back. I'm thinking of going back part time in six months when I can transfer to days (I'm working nights now), but I still don't know what I want to do. There is really nothing that I enjoy, except car audio, but there isn't a whole lot of money to be made in that field unless you are really good. Plus car audio installation school is very expensive and there is no schools around here. Man, now I'm depressed again worrying about what I'm gonna do with my life. I know I'm still young, but I feel like I'm going no where. Sorry everyone. I'll go sit in the corner now.

Dan! don't be so sad. You will find one day what you want to do with your life... Not everyone is born with a vocation... Take your time, do a little research, go to your library, try to find something interesting to YOU and compatible with your life. You shouldn't be so depressed, you are getting married: this is great! Just one thing at a time and everything will get easier...

Just wanted to update..Today I have learned that paperwork is ready in time & I will be a Ph D student in Psychology (Behavioral Neuroscience) this semester

I think I'm happy; though scared a little bit..After all it has been 3 years since I was graduated..I will be a student in a foreign country..And my BS degree was in Molecular Biology & Genetics..

I have audited 3 Psyc classes last semestester & they weren't as hard as the millions of math, pyhsics, chemistry classes I took before..Only English might be a problem sometimes but I'm sure it'll progress with practice & time..So I'm ready for this journey I guess

Life is going to be different for me from now on & that's something I was dreaming about for some time
post #58 of 74
Hehehe I'm just a vet tech
Dodo, congratulations!!! Hope you're going to enjoy it!! And talking about troubles with English I can't see what troubles you can have - I'm not an expert but I wouldn't have guess you were not native speaker
post #60 of 74
Thanks Billie

I have no problem in English while writing.. But the whole situation is veeery different when it comes to talking..First of all, I have an accent..This makes me repeat my sentences twice sometimes cause few people don't understand me.. Second, sometimes I am stuck while talking as if I don't know any English ! .. Well I almost never had/have to talk in English (2 years) here, so my spoken English didn't progress that much.

Anyway, thanks again
