This is my first Secret Santa on TCS, but I've done SS many times for work and once on another cat site that I belonged to. What exactly is a Secret Santa Snooper? I've never heard of that before!

If you want some more hints from your recipient, you can get a Snooping Santa to ask her/him for more information. Coming from an intermediary, the questions could get quite specific without giving your identity away.

I just signed up (sent my email) This is the first time I am doing it too. I missed it last year, I wasnt around and didn't sign up in time and the year before I joined in dec. It seemed like a lot of fun, so I am going to do it this year.

Thanks! This is a great idea, since it's hard to keep up with all the posts on the whole site...it could get difficult to figure out what your recipient would like. Will there be a list of Snooping Santas, or will we need to look for the smilie with the magnifiying glass?

I just want to add, those folks that are signing up, please remember to stay active on the site, I know last year I did a search of my Secret Santa's posts and gathered a lot of gift ideas from that, but if you don't post, we won't know what to get you! For example I found posts by her, just random ones, that had her favorite kind of jelly belly jelly beans, that she loved stuffed animals and penguins (guess what she got!) as well as slipper socks and Tigger (put those together!) That's also a suggestion for how to figure out what to get your secret santa if you're having trouble down the road

Oh boy! I bought my first Secret Santa present today! It's a kit for something I have to make, so it's good I'm getting an early start. Now I can hardly wait to find out who I'm making it for!

Karen said that if you don't receive a reply in 2 days to resubmit.

When the whole SS clue thread gets started too they usually post in there who the Snooping Santas are as well.. So we will all be reminded a lot of who they are...




Good point on the keep posting thing. My SS last year lost internet and moved and we hadn't heard from her a lot and I started getting scared that my package wasn't going to make it to her, but she did end up getting online and posting that she had gotten it. So, my nerves settled. I found out a lot about her through her random posts and you may also check back to the Questions of the day thread and see if they posted there too, or if they were a spotlight member... you can learn lots that way!

SS is SO fun! You make lifelong friends, I swear! I totally love the two people I sent to and received from in the past two years. That's 4 new friends, and 2 more for this year. Woo!

My SS last year gave me a WONDERFUL Vanilla & Apricot perfume
that smells SO yummy.
And I think of Eddy every single time I wear it.
And the kitties still LOVE their toys - I'm surprised they haven't lost them all by now!

I realize it's only the first day of September, but how soon will we be assigned our Secret Santa names? I've got several ideas in mind, but I don't want to go buying something that might not be a good fit for my SS person.
