I have never heard of Orudis before.
I said most formulations. I know that there are some without it.

Oh I know. I only underlined it to show that the one I have does not have aspirin and it still worked better than tylenol.

*giggles* When I take Advil, I tend to get "funky". Like, I'm completely & totally wasted funny. It's fun!

I take nothing, just suck it up. Only time I take painkillers is when I'm vomiting & on my deathbed, or else when I'm PMS'ing(essentially on my deathbed
).

Now, give me an Rx painkiller anyday! Not much happens! By Advil, can take me out like a tank.

Oh... der!!
I get it now. Sometimes the way a tablet is formulated has a huge impact on how easily the tablet breaks apart and releases the drugs.

I believe it all has to do with what you take and how often.... I know thats how it seems to be anyway..... like with me, I cramp VERY BADLY. during that time of the month.... always have.   and Tylenol, Advil, and such no longer work for me.   However, one evening my sister was visiting and i had run out of Aleve, so i asked if she had anything,   Excedrin she says,    within the hour, if not sooner    no cramps.   HAPPY CAMPER I WAS... lol.    but i never used Excedrin  before. or at least i never bought it.  So now i switch back and forth.... seems to work much better.....

I have occasional migraines & I hate them. What works for me is Excedrin Migraine. I have to take 3 pills at once, it's slow-acting, but it works.

The only thing that ever worked on my migraines was Imitrex and the other triptans.   When a migraine is just starting, I can sometimes head it off with Alleve.  Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, aspirin  and excedrin do absolutely nothing.

LOL, this is a really old thread. . .

Acetaminophen doesn't work for me. At all. I found this out quite young because I would get very bad menstrual cramps when I was 11-13. And Tylenol didn't help at all and sometimes made me throw up :/. So I eventually settled on a combination of aspirin and Advil (which is what Excedrin is, plus caffeine).

I could have sworn I read that a recent study showed that about 75%-80% of people don't respond to acetaminophen at all, but now I can't find the news story :/. Although the studies I can find do show that it's not very effective in general.

This is so old, I posted this over 9 years ago. Thankfully, my body isn't picky anymore and I can take whatever.

Whatever you take, if you pop it alot, you'll eventually become immune to it and suffer the consequences.

B use to be in the Army and if you feel any pain, they just hand you Tylonel 6. While in our everyday lives tylanol 6 is like THE pain killer, he's now immune to any Tylonal...it does not work for him anymore. Either Aleeve or Excedrin does it.

I personally try to tough out the headache for a few hours...sometimes it goes away after a nap, but if it doesn't go away by the end of the day or it increases I'll take either Advil or Excedrin/Excedrin Migraine.
The Army gives out Tylenol #6? Where do I sign up? That is some strong stuff. I take Tylenol #4 for arthritis and it helps but I am getting immune to it.

When I was a kid I had severe menstrual cramps and nothing helped until the doctor started giving me Tylenol #3. Plain old Tylenol by itself has never ever helped any kind of pain I ever had.
