I like dogs but I don't love them. I don't go "Awwww" whenever I see a picture of a dog or puppy but I am like that about cats. I will probably never own a dog (had one as a child) but if I met a potential partner who had or wanted a dog it wouldn't be a problem.

I love cats and dogs, but I am more of a cat person. I had a golden retriever growing up.

I've got two large-ish dogs, one Lab/GSP X @ 100 lbs & one Lab @ 60 lbs. I love them both & often foster dogs, too. Like, right now I have an insane Lab X eating my toes!

I love all animals, including dogs. Personally, I would just love to have a dog and another rabbit. (After spending a week in Arizona with my SIL's dog I really want a sweet beagle!) However, I know that it wouldn't be fair to the animal. DH and I both work unpredictable hours. We couldn't really be certain of one of us getting home to let a dog out on time. And if I had another bunny, I'd definitely want it to, eventually, be free-running instead of caged...but that takes a lot of time and patience. Cats are a bit more independent, so for now it's just my three boys.

We've had several dogs through the years.

It's clueless dog owners I don't like.

I love cats and dogs...I just don't have a dog because I am in an apartment, and I have a fear of the dog not able to be housetrained.

I deffinately favor kitties, but I love dogs too! I have 2 dogs at my parents. Someday when I have a house and preferably a nice fenced in backyard, I want a dog or 2!

When I was small I was scared of most dogs, especially if I didn't know them. Then when I was about 11 one got ahold of my RB girl Glory, but he only shook her once and not very hard. I wasn't there to see it or I might have been more upset by it than I was, but it was just a few years after that, that we got our first dog and I love her to pieces!

But there is something to be said to take a best friend on a good long walk, or just go out and play catch.

I used to date a guy that had a Italian Mastiff , Cane(male) and a Rottweiler(female) Diamond.

Cane had notches on his collar for stray cats, since we had lived in the country. It wasent something that ould be helped, as we had a 1/2 acre pen, and it had trees in it, and the cats would go INTO the pen!!! not to bright.

well, i was ALWAYS a cat lover, so i wanted a big tom. I told my SO at the time, and he said, you KNOW how cane is. I said, well, we have that lil chicken coup in the backyard, he can stay there till hes old enough. then we will have to cordinate when we let the dog out, to when the cat would be.

So he said OK. we found an ad in the paper for barn kittens, and went to look. there was this ADORABLE lil male american bobcat kitten. he was fiesty!! So i said HIM. we took him home, and TRIED to keep him in the house. NO worky, lol. He went EVERYWHERE but the litter ( he was prob 7-8 weeks old) So we set him up in the chicken coup, which was a old shed with a chicken wire fense around a "deck" on the outside of it. he was happy there, had a great time taunting the dog from the safety of inside.

One day, Cane and diamond were outside, and i didnt know it as i went to feed Tom Tom( real origional i know!). I was inside feeding him, and Cane burst though my legs. I was in shock, trying to grab the kitten.

NO worries! the kitten reacted to Cane faster then Cane knew what it was. Tom Tom latched himself AROUND canes muzzle!! I was laughing SOOOO Hard!! Tom was hissing and spitting, and poor Cane was looking at me like " get it off, get it off , get it OFF!!" . I took Tom Tom off cane, and cane ran for the hills. I knew then Tom Tom and Cane had it in for each other.

When Tom Tom was older, and could get out of the coup, he would roam, and come home the MINUTE he heard the screen door slam, that most the time meant food to him, lol. Most the time, i would yell for him, and tell him , CANES COMING. he knew then to scoot!

One day, i watched as Tom Tom suned himself on the huge rocks near the dog pen. he would stick his tail IN the pen, and wait for Cane. Once Cane got there, he would retract it, like he was TAUNTING Cane!!! it was a game for them. They did this day in and day out.

The dogs had a 1/2 acre pen, and 1/4 of it was a enclosed porch, with a doggy door. Tom would yell for Cane in the am, and they would run near each other, outside the pen several times a day. After a while, Cane grew to like Tom as a friend, i was shocked!!

One day, Cane was in the pen, and there was Tom, in the tree, IN THE PEN. I was freakin, thinkin he was signing his death wish. but nope, he was teasing Cane. Diamond al this time never gave tom the time of day.

A few weeks later, Cane was sleeping on the porch, and Tom Tom was sleeping WITH HIM. i was again freakin, but again, they settled me by acting like friends!!!

for weeks, then months, then years, they did this, Cane would share the porch with Tom, since the porch was heated in the winter.

On thanksgiving day one year, we woke up early, let Cane and Diamond out, then came back to be. INSTANTLY cane wanted back in, so we let him. He came over to my SO, and was crying. and he smelled like cat pee. At first my SO thought the worst, and went to check. HE let Cane back into the porch, and Cane led him to Tom. Tom was dead, but not by Cane. cane was laying by him, crying, nudging him. So went to check Tom, and found that someone had done something HORRIBLE to him. he was missing his face .

So we looked all over, and in the driveway, was poor toms face, alng with another cats body. We NEVER found who did it. and Cane never got over the loss of his friend, and never liked another cat.

I just couldnt believe a dog that HATED cats could have such a soul-mated friend like that. To bad they didnt have more time together. Tom was the best cat i could have EVER asked for, and i miss him alot. this happened only 8 years ago.

Sorry so long winded, sweet memories and all........
What a sad story...
It makes me sick to know there's people out there that would do such a thing. But it was a cute story too, I just wish Cane would like all cats now!! LOL

I LOVE dogs!!!!
I am as big a dog lover as i am a cat lover
I especially love larger dogs- many of which are a bit hyper/etc and just need good training- the ones that always get overlooked in shelters

I have a 12 yr old wolf mix at my mom's house. Her mom was a full blooded wolf and her dad was a german shepherd/norwegian elkhound mix. (she's sooo bonded to my mom that when i move i just couldn't take her). She's named Ginger and she is THE best dog i have ever know. I wouldn't trade her for the world.

At Colin and I's house we have two amazing dogs!
Fosters and Whiskey. Fosters is our beautiful Australian Shepherd (rescue from the shelter where i work.

Whiskey is our Carolina Dog -he's a sweetie pie! We adopted him from one of Colin's coworkers. (their other dogs were beating up on him so they wanted to rehome him.)

I also foster dogs too. Norris is our current foster dog- he's sooo sweet!
He's a 3 legger

At the shelter where i work we have both cats and dogs so i work with both all day long. If it were up to me i'd take 1/2 of them home with us
So yea- i'm a huge dog fan!
All of our dogs are rescues - i wouldn't have it any other way
There are soooooooo many amazing dogs out there in need of wonderful homes!

I like dogs, but I feel in my life right now, I don't have the time to train, walk, clean poop, potty train, etc right now. I do happen to "prefer" cats because to me they are easier to take care of.

I wuv doggies!
If magic fairy babies hadn't changed my life I would still be an exclusive working dog house with the random fantasic cat thrown in.
First time (excluding while my being active military) that I have not owned a dog in my life.
Hard stuff. Would right now happily trade a super cat for a super dog-anyone out there want a decent bengal and have standard poodles? Collies? Chows? Akitas? Working GSD's are my first and forever love but while I have the little ones too much. My wonderful chow/akita friend of ten years passed away recently and it has been rotten trying to find another dog good with kids and cats.

I LOVE dogs. we currently have four wonderful dogs along with the 2 wonderful kitties.

Jenny is 9 and she is a rottie/golden retriever/lab mix and she is awesome with the kitties.

Rocky is a 10 year old almost 11 in November black lab mix he loves the kitties, too.

Ginger is a 8 year old corgi mix, loves the cats but isn't too crazy about them but she would never hurt them.

Buster is a 3 year old coonhound and loves the cats but he will harrass them at times but would never harm them.

just to let you know, dogs don't kill cats on purpose. it's instinct. but I would be distraught if one of my dogs killed one of my cats.

My first love all of my life have been dogs, now I love cats just as much. I love guinea pigs (I had two) and all animals. I'm not too fond of snakes or reptiles but most animals I really love. Sorry you had a bad experience with a dog but you shouldn't hate all dogs because of one.
