Update:
OK, back from the vets, the little guy will be just fine

He is a little annoyed by having a sore jaw, but it isn't broken, phew!
Thanks guys for all your concern and support, I am sorry I was late coming back to the thread, but after the vet's I got a couple of hours rest - well earned, he he.
So, happy days!
I hope my next post will be a happier one

Hooray! Your news has made my morning. Did they have to stitch his skin back on his jaw? That happened to my cat when I was little - she was in the hood of the truck when my father started it up (she was O.K.).

Hope your next post is a happier one, too.

Glad that AJ is ok!
What did they say about his poor little eye? I know that and is jaw must have been killing him. I know that you made the night easier for him by staying with them. They are like us and need comfort when they are hurt, scared, or lonely. Welcome to TCS!
I hope to see you around on the forums and let us know how little AJ is doing. I'm glad you got some rest! Is there anyway you can keep him inside so this won't happen again?

Hi Duchess, thanks for the words, I will certainly stick around, you guys are very welcoming

As for stopping him going out, well, I will keep him in for the near future, but the little dude is an explorer at heart, and he wouldn't stand being kept in indefinitely.
I will be keeping a very close eye on him, as usual

I'm sooooo glad!
Did they give you some ointment for his eye and chin irritation? Any stitches? I'm glad it's just a sore jaw, that's kind of what I suspected... So glad he's okay!

You guys are too cool, thanks

No stitches, we did get some ointment for his eye, and as for eating, well it's proving tricky, he isn't in the mood at the moment, I can't say I blame him, I will wait and see how he is later on, when I will be serving him 'Cat Soup Supreme' - a little something I knocked together for him

He is drinking a bit, through a pipette, which is good enough for now.
He is on the couch, with his favourite teddy bear, he is unimpressed, but OK!

Oh, how scary this must have been for you. I'm just getting caught up. I'm thrilled to hear that he's going to be ok.
You tell him just how lucky he is and give him a big hug when he's feeling up for one.

Oh that poor baby, did you see him get hit by a car or just guessing. Could he have been in a fight with another animal, just wondering. I pray he will be ok, hope a vet gets to seem him very soon. We have emergency vets here at all hours of the night, please keep us informed of what the vet says.
